OK, I just read the first volume of Indestructible Hulk and was quite entertained.

However, am I the only one who thought Banner was a total jackass? Was he supposed to be portrayed like that?

He didn't really come off as a jackass to me. Is there a particular instance you are talking about?

@comicstooge: Well, actually... yeah. He was one in the Hulk series before this one.

@raynorj: Mostly how he treated Tony Stark, he came across as a douche.

I would imagine Bruce (already before OS) would have quite a lot of irritation coming from Tony. They are both scientists, even if in different fields. Tony grew up privileged and ends up with the money, women and respect, in-spite of being recognized as a massive irresponsible self-centered douchebag for most of his life. Bruce from the broken home ends up living his life on the run with powers/personality he cant control, no respect from anyone regarding his work.

While they are both more grown up now, its no wonder Bruce would take pot-shots at Tony's ego when he can get away with it. (And clearly it works since Tony secretly appears to agree that Banner is the smarter, (the mirror scene)).

@comicstooge Nothing out of the ordinary really, their science rivalry has been like that, but read issue 17 and then come back and tell me whose being a bigger douche. Not to mention what Tony did to Banner in the Original Sin, which i will personally never accept as canon.

What did Tony do to him? I won't pick up the issue, so if you could tell me with spoilers on, I would appreciate it.

@comicstooge: Tony deserved it. Banner is finally written to have a backbone and should continue to be that way. Tony launched him into space the Hulk got his revenge but not sure if Banner ever did and Tony wasn't really acknowledging banner as an equal. Also Hulk just wanted to let off some steam just a friendly sparring match
