If they got into a fight who would win?

I think Hulk 2003

2008

NOT AVENGERS HULK., AVENGERS HULK IS TECHNICALLY SAME HULK BUT IS NOT, THEY HAVE DIFFERENT FEATS IN THE MOVIE'S CLEARLY.

2003 looks stronger, and I think is bigger. I cant see how 2008 would win. 2003 hulk is a giant in some shots.

MCU Hulk wrecked a Chitauri ship with one punch. He also showed great skill when fighting the Abomination who was also larger, stronger, and more skilled

I'm sorry, I know its matter of opinion, but I can't see how anyone would prefer Ang Lee's Hulk to the 2008 one..

Avengers and 2008 version are technically the same. They're both in the same continuity. It could be said that Banner developed greater abilities over time, similar to in the comics. But just to be civil, I'll say that 2003 hulk would have won the fight in 2008.

2003 Hulk threw a 60 ton Abrams tank over the horizon and tanked a nuke. He had a proper healing factor and very quickly and obviously grew stronger as he got angrier or was threatened. He displayed similar jumping ability to the comic book Hulk. It was implied that there might be no limit to how powerful he could become.

2008 Hulk had no healing factor, seemed much weaker, didn't seem to grow stronger with anger and could jump about as well as Spider-Man can.

In short - 2003 Hulk would destroy 2008 Hulk. Utterly.

@Fifthchild: First of all you rock dude/dudette whichever.

Second I always felt the 2003 Hulk was the right kind of hulk. Down to the very actor who portrayed him. The 2003 Hulk is an unrelenting source of power and anger as he should and always be.

as much as you are right on some part i'm gonna have to disagree with you, the 2008 hulk did gain strength, and i can bring to examples,

  • if you pay close attention, the hulk's eye's glow when he get's stronger, and the fist time he did that was when he was attacked by those sound wave munchies, hulk was at first beaten but when he heard Betty screaming he got mad and overpowered the machine
  • the second example would be when hulk was pined to the wall by abomination, he at fist was clearly outmatched but he then later saw Betty in trouble and his eye's glowed and he out muscled abomination

He did (i thought i had thrown in a qualifier such as "particularly" there) but it didn't seem like much of a boost and it took pretty extreme stimuli to get him there. Both times it involved the idea of Betty in danger which is the ultimate motivator. Hulk 2003 OTOH got much more powerful in response to some pretty tame things such as having people shoot at him.

I also should add the qualifier that there were essentially 3 versions of the 2003 Hulk - 9 foot, 12 foot and 15 foot tall as he got angrier/placed in more dangerous situations. 2008 Hulk was maybe around the 12 foot version IMO. Maybe less. The 15 foot version who fought the army seemed, by all indications, much more powerful.

and you also have to consider the fact that the 2008 hulk was actually the one in the avengers movie, the one who killed huge monster alien snake with a single punch , the 2008 seemed to have grown in strength in the avengers movie , he even beat loki with barely even trying

While continuity-wise it was the one in the Avengers movie for all intents and purposes it was very different. Whedon & Feige basically tossed out everything Leterrier & Norton had come up with in their version of the character and started again. Whedon even poked fun at the way Leterrier had wanted his Hulk to look like a super-ripped bodybuilder. I actually think the Avengers Hulk has a lot more in common with Ang Lee's version right down to scenes which almost seem like a homage such as the jets shooting Hulk and Hulk jumping on them. Asides from which the OP specifically was talking about the 2008 Hulk as a separate entity from the Avengers Hulk.

As for Avengers Hulk as compared to 2003 Hulk? Its a tough one. 2012 Hulk had a great feat in the Leviathan punch but its hard to compare it to a known quantity like the tank that Hulk hammer tosses. Its also pretty vague as to whether he gets stronger as he gets angrier, whether he has a healing factor etc. I think Avengers Hulk is probably more powerful than all but the 15 foot Hulk. Its tough to say but its also hard to ignore 2003 Hulks dynamic power and healing because they were upfront and emphasized whereas if that was part of Avengers Hulk it was more of a sub-text. As an aside thats worth considering I also think Ang Lee was much more realistic in the physics of his movie and how things moved whereas Whedon had a more cartoonish approach. Thats not a criticism btw.

2003 hulk is more powerful, at least from what we are shown:

Strenght wise 03 Hulk was able to throw a tank like 5 miles, wreck an entire floor by just running through it, he punched a very durable elevator out of the floor when he was escaping his captive. 03 Hulk managed to make a freaking car avalance with a ground pound, also he was able to make those huge jumps that we all love from the comics. Hulk 08, only managed to wrestle some cars, throwing a fork lift, and fights Abomination, the forklift and the cars is something Spider-Man is able to do.

Now durability wise 03 is the clear winner, first of we see him heal at the spot from that cluster bomb thing, while Hulk 08 is still hurt hours later from that fight at the college. Though they did take about the same amount of punishment from the military 03 Hulk seemed to heal from that within seconds while 08 took hours.

2008 was by far the better movie, but in a battle 2003 is clearly more powerful.

The 2003 Hulk would tear the 2008 olive-green asparagus tarzan in pieces, chew him, blow a bubble and cause it to burst :-)

Hulk 2003 was obviously larger, and faster (Hulk vs the helicopters scene illustrates that) than the 2008 Hulk. I would wager Hulk 2003 is likely stronger as well. Plus he's got that impressive leaping ability straight out of the comics.

Hulk 2008 .... well .... he's more ripped and not as bulky! :)

2008 Hulk is supposed to be connected to Avengers Hulk, who is stronger and more agile + movie vicious than 2003 Hulk. So I'd say 2008 Hulk would win.

Without Avengers feats I'd say 2003 Hulk.

@logy5000: I do not see a connection to either hulk in the avengers movie, all 3 movies, of different hulks, different Banners, and Different Directors, who brought their own out look on the hulk, but heres a test, if they would have shown Betty, that would have connected it. Like they Did with thor.

But 2003 hulk was a one point like 11 feet tall, and that puts the other hulk down.

i stopped watching 2003 after the first half an hour...it was just awful. Anyway the avengers hulk in the next movie and all the characters for that, need a massive power boost, there power is so underated that i think black widow would give thor a the closest fight of his life.

from what i've heard, avengers>2003>2008

the 2008 kickstarted the avengers, but i wouldn't link it in anyway but that, they just wanted a better looking hulk movie for an idea for the avengers.

Depends how savage is this Hulk of 2008. If this is such soft puppy like in Endgame, Ragnarok or IW then 2003 claps. If this is savage, angry like in Avengers 1 & 2 and his solo movie then MCU claps
