So what do you guys think about the newest entry of the MCU Netflix world ?? I´m going to start the first episode in a few minutes, just want to know how you feel about the show.
Your opinion on Marvel´s The Punisher ?? NO SPOILERS !!
I am on episode 8 and I think it is perfect. Do not go into it expecting it to be an action show, expect top notch writing, characters, and plot. The show hits all its intended points thematically as well. That is what you're gonna get. I mean there are still great action scenes but the focus is not on cool fighting scenes like it is in Daredevil.
Finished episode 9 last night. It's great, but if you're looking or a super-comic-booky show then don't go there, it's barely a superhero show (at least not yet), it's pretty much a crime-thriller. It does really well with it though, they've nailed Frank's character, all the flashbacks have been great. It is a great show so far
Only watched a couple of episodes. It starts pretty strong but is starting to slack and I'm hoping it picks up again.
I think it's the best MCU show since DDS1, but I think it will be disliked on the Vine. It's very much insulated from comic-bookiness.
I just finished the first episode, it was freaking raw, I loved it.
I personally thought the first episode was great too, but it got much worse after that.
I'm only on the second episode so far. It's alright so far
The first episode is probably one of the best episodes.
Some really good moments. I care about what happens to the Characters as well. Just wish Punisher had interacted with faux Daredevil. That would have been fun.

Really good, but a bit all over the place and a lot of its political talk becomes really heavyhanded once it gets out of the individual fates of soldiers, which thank god is the main focus when it gets political.
Finished it last night. Overall, I felt it was true to the source material. It felt like a television version of Ennis' Punisher MAX, only it wasn't quite so vehemently misanthropic and gratuitously violent.
I like Jon Bernthal as an actor and Frank Castle seems like the essential Jon Bernthal role of the deeply troubled American male possessed by righteous anger taken to the extreme, a good match. Supporting cast was decent, but this is definitely the Frank Castle show and Bernthal shoulders the burden admirably.
My hopes that Punisher would dispense with the absurd fisticuffs once the other Marvel heroes were out of the picture were confirmed. This is a world where- *gasp*- the firearms that mankind has designed and refined for centuries to kill each other are actually the principle means of combat. Lots of guns and military characters make me happy, though I can see how this might turn people off who are more accustomed to heroes overcoming or even trivializing the threat of firearms with fantastic powers.
Anyway I just watched it; I might be back with a more balanced critique when the excitement wears off.
I've been very much enjoying it so far (Episode 10 as of now). A bit of a slow start but it's also a lot more complex than what I thought I'd be getting. If you want the Punisher just murdering people every episode, you're not going to be happy those episodes exist of course but they're spread out pretty evenly. The series is also fairly stand-alone, with only a handful of familiar faces popping up so if you're expecting a ton of MCU connections you'll be disappointed as well.
That being said as of now if I were to rank it with the other (again on episode 10) I'd say it's better than Iron Fist and Luke Cage, with it being either on par or slightly above Jessica Jones. Daredevil is still top dog, but that doesn't make this or the other shows bad just Daredevil is really good. (Defenders isn't listed cause it's not so much of a show and more of an event)
Also keeping in mind I haven't finished it, but spoilers below for anyone who as or has at least made it to episode 10.
Anyone else getting the vibe Dinah could end up being the MCU's Lady Punisher instead of Lynn Michaels?
Just starting episode 12 I think it's great probably my 3rd favourite Netflix mcu show after DDS2 and S1
Just finished it yea it was a really great show I loved it towards the end especially it got so brutal and raw. My order would go DDS2>DDS1>Punisher> then the rest I find it hard to order the others
Okay scratch my earlier comment, those last 4 episodes are some of the best I've seen from Marvel Netflix it's easily on par with Daredevil, albeit a very different type of show.
loving it
i still think daredevil is king but this show is up there with jessica jones
the cw gotta step their game up arrow is losing its views
It's a great show with a ton of filler. Episodes 1-3 are great, then there's the midseason hump to get over, then episodes 9-13 are incredible. Perfect last five episodes. This show is like the opposite of Luke Cage which was great till the middle then tampered off in quality.
So basically starts great, ends perfect, my favorite Marvel show easily.
Boring imo.
Some episodes were good, espeically the first and the last 4-3 episodes, but for the most part ... Mehhh
I love it. It's rather light on feats but the story and characterization are amazing.
Needs more feats. Punisher needs to tank Supernovas and planet-bust ...
Just finished The Punisher, the last two episodes were some of the most brutal stuff I have ever seen on TV, excellent show.
@the_fallen_lord: It does but then slows down for a few episodes then picks back up.
I think it's too long. Some story lines were just unnecessary. They should have made 10 episodes instead of 13
I definitely agree with that. It should have been a 10 episode season. Episodes 8-10 were kind of pointless except as filler.
I think we could have done without Lewis in the show, everything else was top notch.
@thor_parker82: Bit too much Midonay imo. Along with her mom. I don't know why she had to have so many scenes.

Yeah, finished it. Best MCU Netflix show, IMO.
