I just saw Ant-Man and I must say, Yellow Jacket IMO is the best villain the MCU has ever had.
He was badass, didn't crack jokes, and Corey Stoll did a great acting job.
If he's not No 1, where would you guys rank him?

Hahahahaha. Cross is so vanilla, I expected him to melt in the sun.
He's low on the totem pole to be honest. He's a poor man's Obidiah Stane. We've been there, done that.

But but... I didn't like Obadiah Stane.
Plus there have been a lot of recent Marvel villain failures and I think this guy was a step up.
@deathstroke52: Man, Obi was frightening. He's the evil face of big business. Cross was a goober.
Also, while I think that the villains are usually a weak spot of the MCU, I'm not as hard on them as some site users are. Some may be underwhelming, but I wouldn't out and out call any failures. Ronan would be the closest based on his sheer underuse, but meh.
He was more than serviceable (not the best but definitely up there), had me wondering if he was as clueless as he seemed and tricked me like he did the main characters.
I couldn't help wishing he had been cast as Lex though...
He was generic as f***.
This. being not as bad as the other Villains doesn't make him good IMO.
Either way the title belongs to Kingpin
@fuzzylittlerodent: ( ͠° ͟ʖ ͡°)
@wrglfan2814: lol I thought it was the opposite.
I thought he was threatening and even took a little too long to be defeated.

This. Yellowjacket was more plot-device-with-a-storytelling-purpose than a compelling villain. #Malekith4Life
He didn't crack as many jokes but he wasn't exactly as strait-laced as someone like Kingpin either.
George R.R. Martin brought up a good point recently though that a number of MCU baddies are essentially evil versions of the good guys with the same powers (e.g. Skull, Abomination, basically all of Iron Man's villains...).
((Also, RB, answer your PMs goshdarnit!))
@veshark: Yellowjacket isn't exactly the same, Veshark. He had lasers too. Pew Pew!
He was better than Ultron, but that's not saying much.
god i was disappointed with ultron.
@ironthor1: when he comes out the swimming pool was literally the most badass thing in the whole movie.
@ironthor1: agreed
He was better than Ultron, but that's not saying much.

everyone was. Marvel tried to make him kid friendly because of their overlords, Disney.
Kingpin
Have to agree with the general consensus, Cross was a fairly bland and generic villain, although the Yellowjacket suit was pretty bad@ss. The problem comes from knowing bland, generic Cross is the one in the bad@ss Yellowjacket suit which simply diminishes the perceived threat. Sure they set him up as being mentally unstable but it was a bit hard to swallow that he was going to be able to go toe to toe with Lang who had been training. ok, maybe Cross had been training offscreen but we don't know that for certain, so the only thing verifiable is he had a suit with lasers. Given his characterization it might have worked out better if Cross had a hired gun, a professional mercenary or something to man the suit once all the shrinky kinks had been worked out, definitely would have come off more believable. Despite the fault with the villain it was a really good movie which I enjoyed from beginning to end, and I originally thought it was going to be a steaming pile of crap when it was first announced.
I thought he was gonna be good when he turned the guy into flubber flesh, but he just sort of fizzled into nothing.
@antithetical: Cross putting the suit on himself made perfect sense to me. He had been studying this stuff for years and was a genius who created the suit so of course he'd master it quicker than Scott. On top of that he's a mentally unbalanced freak with daddy/father figure issues and and a major grudge against Scott. Putting some merc or no name in the suit wouldn'tve meant anything. He had to do it HIMSELF , to prove to everyone that he was a better choice protege/successor than Scott could ever be.
this guy is a step up from LOLtron in terms of menace, but boy was he generic..
same origin as gg from spider-man 1, dr octopus, obadiah, extremis, captain america, amazing spider-man, etc
@dodirty: when they are cringworthy egg jokes, then yes, they are bad
@spider-manwins: The only cringe moment was the dance battle and Iron Man 3 Mandarin and Tobey Maguire's acting in Spider-Man 3 was horrible.
@dodirty: afternoon of LOLtron was even worse
