Poll: Would you rather *MCU* edition? (27 votes)

TV characters come to the big screen 44%
Different formula films in the MCU 56%

Would you rather.....

See your favorite TV-MCU characters come to the big-screen (Daredevil, Punisher, Luke Cage, Quake) and interact with big screen heroes?

No Caption Provided

OR

See the MCU take more risks and release a slate of nontraditional (Rated R, darker, and more serious films)?

No Caption Provided

Hypothetically speaking, let's say Kevin Feige pulls up to your doorstep, knocks on your door, and asks you to decide what should Marvel do differently. I personally say, TV characters on the big-screen but that's just me.

@mazahs117: Disney+ shows will tie in with the films. For example Loki and WandaVision will both tie into Doctor Strange somehow.

@ready_4_madness: Yeah , but we are talking about the tone , different genres , film structures , and themes that the MCU handles . Because if I am being honest , my humble opinion , the MCU has started feeling stale over the past year or so besides IW and Endgame . There really was no difference in the type of content that Ant-Man and the Wasp , Captain Marvel , and Spider-Man : Far From Home and all of them were cookie-cutter in terms of quality and experience.

Second option. Don't care about ant Marvel TV characters enough to want them to see them in movies.

I could actually care less about the Marvel movies by now, I'm not invested in what happens to the universe they set up.

But Punisher and Daredevil coming back? Absolutely.

I never understood why people want a rated R film so bad the word "fuck" and some blood won't make a movie any better.

Though I would still vote option B because there are a lot of ways to make a movie different.

@wakeupsid: oh ok my bad. Ehh I don’t think they really need a change of tone. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it.

@ready_4_madness: Oooh, I see. It’ll be interesting to see how far they take that. I remember the NETFLIX series really only ever would make small mentions to the larger events of the MCU but they were never really impacted by each other iirc

The different formula would be more beneficial in the long run to keep Marvel movies relevant and fresh for years to come. TV crossovers would be cool for like a year or two but the novelty would eventually ware off

Doesn't matter unless there is meaning and good execution. Alone, either choice can fail miserably.

TV characters crossing over. The films already have different formulas with the exception of being R rated, which honestly makes no difference to me.

Second option. But I would love to see Daredevil, Kingpin and Punisher again in the big screen.

If Daredevil appeared in the next Spider-Man only to be treated with the same respect that Thor's been given over the past few films than I think I'd rather go for Marvel actually trying to be original for once.

An ultra gritty Shang Chi movie about him fighting the Yakuza could be amazing, but knowing Marvel and Disney it's going to wind up being a massive CGI spectacle with cringy jokes forced into every single scene.

Would open up for a ton of new subject matter and themes in the movies. It's not just blood and language.
