Marvel's schtick as being the "world outside your window" would make it not as entertaining to live in.

This. Also, while super-powered crime fighting is a nice fantasy, we live in a society of laws and vigilantism is generally frowned upon. Do you want to go to work one day later to discover that your home or car were destroyed during a street battle between two supers? Who's going to pay for all of that? Why do I have to pay higher premiums because all of these enhanced people want to solve all of their problems by hitting something or blowing it up?

Put aside the obvious negative of having individuals with abilities ranging from glorified bodybuilders to nuclear destruction duking it out on a regular bases, down the street; I'd choose DC...(granted, I haven't read almost agny of what's moderately going on in comics, so...yeah). If I had to choose the individuals who rumbled around me, I'd rather them be as assured in character as the DC heroes are. Marvels selling point of 'flawed characters', while interesting to read, seems like it would suck for the people in that world.

Put me in the world with the roster of overpowered near-godly, who never fault from doing good. I'd rather have the boyscout.
