Yes- they're more suited 43%
No- Ron and Hermione forever 57%

I think they would've made a great couple.

No, too conceptually contrived and there was no romantic subtext between them in any book at all, unlike Ron and Hermione.

No. I like that they were just really close friends.

Absolutely not. If Harry was gonna hook up with anyone besides Ginny it should have been Luna. Hell, she’s still my first choice regardless.

Admittedly, I'm not that knowledgeable on the matter, but as far as I see it, the only thing that ship has going for it is him being the most important boy in the story and her being the most important girl.

I dunno

When I found out that Harry loved Ginny and that they married each other...I thought that was weird. Ginny is the sister of Harry's best friend and she was in one of the years below Harry...that's weird to me. I thought it would be more appropriate if Harry married someone from his own year, I still think that now. Hermione and Ron are in the same year so that's ok.

@arranvid: what’s weird about someone dating a person that’s a year younger?

^ This. I don't think it's that weird. I'd much rather have my sister date my best mate than a complete stranger. I already trust him and I know for fact that he will look after her properly. The dynamic might take some time to getingt used to though

It's just, to me, that if you're in the year above you're supposed to be like a mentor to the person in the year below, that's how I always took it. I know that many people marry other people who are one year or many years younger than they are but for me that's a bit strange, that's all. When I went to school in England, that was the feeling I got...that someone having a crush on a person in the year below them e.g a person in Year 12 having a crush for someone in Year 11, shouldn't even be a reasonable thought and should be crossed out immediately...it should be more of a mentoring relationship not a romantic or sexual one. I remember my friend in Year 12 who was doing his A-levels and he had a girlfriend in Year 11 who was doing her GCSEs and I thought it was weird. I can see why other people will not think its weird though.

@arranvid: One year? I dunno man, people do it with much bigger age gaps quite often. I get how it might be perceived as weird within the context of a school, but outside it? Not so much.

Book wise, I'm indifferent, though I think Hermione could have done better than scaredy cat ginger.

Movie wise, absolutely she should have picked Harry. Way more chemistry between actors.

there's more chemistry between the two of them in this two minute scene then all of Ron and Hermione in 8 movies

Personally, I could live with Harry and Hermione as an item in AU fan-fics that are sufficiently well done, but for canon, no. I prefer her with Ron. Ron needs more love anyway.
