Would "Venom" have been better if it were set in the MCU and included Spider-Man?

That's a question that cannot be answered since we cannot even know what plot of the movie would've been.

You don't really need Spider-Man to make a Venom story work.

Looking at Donny Cates' work on Venom the character can actually form his own good mythos with Knull and such.
