Part of the awards game is publicity and how you market yourself in a campaign. There have been examples of actors that disapprove of the Academy but ended up winning anyway, like Brando or George C. Scott.

Well the thing with Joker is that it's not your standard CBM and it hasn't been marketed as such, so it might be easier for a nomination to happen this time than with previous CBMs.
Personally, I don't think I'm going to watch it. Not now anyway. I'll wait to see if it indeed as good as reviews say it is.
As for Phoenix, if he is indeed that good as the Joker, considering he has won before IIRC, he could win it again, if competition allows for it.
Nope he aint going to win it and there are 3 reason behind it

Possible reason
1 : SJW wants movies to have People Of Color Leading actors or Actress or to be clear whoever is going to get oscar must be people of color
2 : oscar is bound to critics
3 : Critics already hating this movie because of incel and Mass shooting reason although they didnt even watched it yet
In my opinion joaquin deserves oscar 100% his movies and his actings are amazing but like i said these 3 reason are going to stop him from getting oscar and i am not even suprised

Is it releasing on 2nd or 4th October here in India? Also I don't think Joker has a lot of explicit sex scenes or extremely graphic violence that is gonna be censored. From what I've heard, it's a normal R Rated movie.
They removed all kissing from Spectre and censored the weirdest stuff from IW and other MCU movies. They normally go hard on R Rated movies regardless of the content. Wait for a few days so the reports on the censorship comes out before you watch it.
Considering that all those people act like activists and seeing all that craze around Joker political incorrectness or whatever the hack it is, I would guess it would be a natural "no".
