Would a Tsar Bomba kill MCU Thanos?
This topic is locked from further discussion.
By standalone feats, yes
Scaling physicals from Thor, I doubt it
On paper, they'd never let him by taken down by a Tsar bomb
He uses power stone to protect himself
He's not hiding behind anything here, he's straight up being hit with it
Ironman made of earthly metals cut him...
Thanos gets vaporized
@the_magister: Scaling feats from Thor? There's an off screen fight and an instance of which Thor stabbed him with the Stormbreaker...
Where abouts in that information does it suggest that Thanos can take a Tsar Bomb?
@monsterstomp: Thanos soundly beat Thor off-screen, which Thor even alluded to. I think Thanos is meant to be physically superior than Thor, and a bit stronger/more durable then Hulk. Thor has that star feat BEFORE getting Stormbreaker, which people tend to forget...that was the same Thor that Thanos was depicted to be much better than.
Using his feats yes. Scaling no.
I wonder if he will get good feats in tie in novel that the MCU is doing for him.
@marvelanddcfan24: earth metals with feats beyond true earth metals considering the thickness of the armor and that Stark's body makes up most of Iron Man.
@rebake: Thanos has no feats to say he could even with the gauntlet
Thor also is not a good example to scale from as Thor is able to channel thousands of degrees of energy through his body so it's not surprising if his energy resistance is higher
Ironman made of earthly metals cut him...
Thanos gets vaporized
Earth Metal that isn't even scratched from a meteor falling on top of it...yeah that "Eartly metals"
@marvelanddcfan24: you entirely missed what I was saying. I'm not debating here, but I don't think downplaying Thanos's impressive durability is right either. And with the stones, there's no need for Thanos to tank the bomb. He can just make himself or the bomb intangible.Create a portal. Reality warp. Reverse time and get out of the way.
@rebake: well yeah but I was assuming this is gauntletless Thanos
@_kingoflatveria: granted after he got hit we dont see him for a little bit it's not farfetched to say his suit just instantaneously healed itself like it was doing all movie
@marvelanddcfan24: wehter it did or not no "earthly metals" would not completely get smooshed by an attack like that and its not like Thanos doesn't have other feats, I'm not saying he survives this but saying "earthly metals" scratched him so that means he dies means almost nothing

Off screen fight is still out of context. Thus, I don't know why you insist on using it. For all we know, Thanos blasted him with the power stone.
Not sure how impressive the star feat was either, considering Thor was literally going to die. I guess it was impressive to keep the forge open long enough to melt Uru, but I'd sum it up to be pain tolerance than a tank showing (since he was going to die without the Stormbreaker).
Still few and far from anything suggesting Thanos can tank a Tsar.

Anyone who says yes doesn't understand how explosions work. They become exponentially weaker the further you go out, the however-many megatons of power? If he's at the epicenter of the explosion, with no stone to protect him... I could see that killing him, but if he's anywhere but, chances of survival start increasing dramatically.
@DammeFavour: it’s not wank... as long as he scales to thor, who tanked a city buster, and survived the heat of a star for a minute, he would have no problem tanking it.
The fact a gem touching thor was killing him, but thanos was taking no damage when touching one, is good evidence for thanos>thor in energy durability.
If you argue the power gem is more dangerous to touch then any gem thanos touched, then i’ll ask how the guardians of the galaxy survived touching the power gem...
Thanos survived this and his fist maintained structural integrity. This alone is infinity durability.
Plus, Thanos>Thor. Did you forget?

Metals that also blocked a blast from an infinity stone. (power).
Unless if Bleeding Edge and Stormbreaker can replicate Tsar Bomba (spoiler alert: they never did and never will) then Thanos dies easily.
Thanos at best can survive a town level attack. Large City+? Yeah no.
Thanos dies, anyone saying he survives, hell even no sells is clearly highballing and needs to stop arguing on this site.
He has no chance of survival. Anyone saying that he lives is just wanking.
I love that DCEU fans say stuff like Superman showers in AA Thor's blows but call it wank when thanos survives a tsar Bomba.
