Ha, that's a surprise. I wonder if it really is that good?
Or if it's just Rotten Tomatoes paid reviews.
Heard it was pretty good by some Youtube reviewers like JeremyJahns and MrSundayMovies for example. I usually value their opinion. And TBH I kinda thought it might be a decent movie based on the trailers. JeremyJahns said that it's a bit slow in the first half but really picks up during the 2nd half. In any case I want to see it.
I have a theory :
Ghost Busters was an awful excuse of a movie, yet somehow managed to get 71%.
My Theory is that critics don't have the balls to give a female related movie bad reviews, or they'll be crucified over the internet.
Or it could just be a really good movie, which is the highest possibility.

If it is paid then so are Marvel movies?
I just saw this! Holy crap!
The DCEU actually put out a good movie?! The curse is lifted!! Hope is restored!!!
The DCEU's attempt at the Trinity may have been total trash, but now, at long last, I get my live-action Trinity:

I didn't know Ghost in The Shell was a comic, thanks for the info.
All the movies you mentioned minus GITS were made before the birth of Dumb feminists and SJW's.

Manga/Comic same thing. But there are western GITS comics available.

Nuff said.

Well Trainwreck is at 85%. I... guess I agree with that score, I was onboard with it until that stupid ending...
I never care for "professional" critics opinions, I'd rather read general public opinion to get an idea of the quality of the movie, but this is nice.

Yeppers.
It took them a while, but the DCEU finally found it's groove. Let's not forget that it took the MCU a little while to find it's groove too; after Iron Man, they didn't make a not mediocre movie again until Captain America: The First Avenger. If anything, I'd say the MCU had an even harder time finding their groove; sure Batman v Superman and Suicide Squad weren't perfect, but I'd pick either over The Incredible Hulk or Iron Man 2.
@mrmonster: This.
I would also pit MOS over IM2, IM3, Incredible Hulk, TFA, Antman, Thor 1, Thor 2, AoU, and maybe gotg depending on my mood.
DCEU had no less of a rocky start than MCU. MCU is just more established. If MCU and DCEU had both competed at the same time... reception for both would be quite different
I heard it's closer to MCU movies in tone/execution and the villain sucks. But, the friend who saw it hasn't really liked any CBM's since TDK trilogy so hopefully he's just being harsh.
I'm still excited to see it though.

Yes. I can at least understand why people don't like Batman v Superman and Suicide Squad; I personally enjoy both films, but if someone dislikes them, I can get it. However, I still don't get why so many people disliked Man of Steel. It is better than most MCU movies.
Marvel Studios got lucky with the first Iron Man movie, and then were in a funk that some would argue lasted until The Avengers. DC had a bit of a funk too, and now they're out of it.
My heart bleeds for you if you actually pay attention to Rotten Tomatoes. Go watch the damn thing and see for yourself.

Sorry people don't have the money to actually go and see every film released to "see for themselves."
Rotten Tomatoes gives me a good indicator of whether both the general public and the more informed movie goers enjoy the film. It doesn't make the decision to see the film or not for me, unless everyone hates it, but it is a good guideline, and certainly more feasible than throwing away money every time a slightly interesting film comes out.
@nicksmi56: A good guideline is to actually read reviews imo. Sometimes people complain for the stupidest reasons (like superman snapping zods neck or "destroying" a city). Reading non spoiler reviews is the best way to guage whether or not you will love a movie.
When I went to see MOS, I saw the less than favorable film but I have never been a superman junkie so it didnt bother me about his mythology. When I read the reviews, there was pretty much unanimous agreement that the movie had some bad ass action sequences and a relatively simple plot so that was a sell for me. Went in, loved the film, and loved superman as well lol.
@thelastdragonborn: I agree, but sadly I find that too many reviewers, including my favorite group, like to put spoilers in their reviews even if it's unintentional. Instead I read the little blurbs Rotten Tomatoes puts on their site and follow fan reactions. Of course if a film I'm already super interested in gets a green light, it's a no-brainer.
@nicksmi56: True yeah.
I'm fortunate not to have a financial problem. My dad makes a hefty salary and is an avid movie fan. My mom is the opposite but I am usually able to go to most big blockbuster films.
Time is the only problem but with AP tests done, I have a lot more. Its crazy how much free time a student gets when he doesnt have to worry about AP Lang, AP Chem, AP Econ., AP Calc, and AP Bio lol.
I just saw this! Holy crap!

@nicksmi56: That's what the trailers are for. Looks good? Go see it. Doesn't look good? Don't go see it. We don't need to bring percentages and fruit into this.

That's judging a book by its cover.

Trailers are deliberately designed to portray their movies in the best possible light. Do you know how many awful movies have great trailers?

Why should someone trust a marketing piece by the makers designed to make the film look as good as possible over dozens of 3rd party opinions?
Edit: @nicksmi56 didn't notice you made pretty much the same point so just assume this is a long "I second that" post :P
@nicksmi56: Enough to break the internet
@nicksmi56: They are but the plot is the plot. It either sounds good or it doesn't. To me anyways.
@bluehope: You mean figuratively.
@Pokeysteve: There's so much more to a movie than its plot, especially since it's a visual medium.

Tbh I doubt anyone goes to see a movie if they don't think the trailer is interesting, unless they already know about characters in said movie beforehand.
@nicksmi56: It doesn't make sense to read about the visual aspects of a movie. The trailers usually have that covered.
My point is that the greatness of a movie is subjective. Dark Knight Rises has an 87% critic rating and 90% audience rating. I thought it was absolute garbage in every way (except Zimmer's score).
@Pokeysteve: Yes, greatness is subjective, but it's better to have at least some idea of what to expect rather than going "Oh, trailer looked cool like every other trailer so I'll see it," or "I'm gonna go see this movie for myself despite the fact that everyone who saw it hated it!"
Rotten Tomatoes isn't the gospel, but it is helpful.
@nicksmi56: A lot of people do go by trailers though haha...
I was fooled by the Transformers 4 trailer. I wont be fooled by the Transformers 5 one though

Mwahahahaha.
It must grind your gears that one of your most disliked films is critically acclaimed!
I've seen trailers I hated. I agree there's some use in checking out a review or two but RT is unnecessary.
Well I already bought my tickets online, my daughters are hyped. This will actually be the first DCEU movie I see at the movie theater
@asgardianbrony: I have seen my share of unnecessary Marvel damage control but this one takes the cake. Pandering to SJWs
