Will Aquaman top Venom's box office???
No. Venom was such a huge success and although Aquaman will be profitable, I don't suspect it will be as profitable as Venom, especially considering it's competition.
@Penguin-Dust: What are it's competitions?

Bumblebee and Mary Poppins Returns open on the same day as Aquaman, and Spider-Verse comes out the week before.
I think it might. From what I’ve seen marketing for Aquaman has been more prominent than its competitors. And a couple of sources online have claimed it’s gonna blow away its competition.
Easily
Why? Because of marketing or another reason?
I doubt that will happen. The movie looks decent at best and terrible at worst (this is coming from a DC fan).
Probably not. The competition for Aquaman is much greater this holiday than what Venom dealt with.
Man, this guy didn't know a damn thing! It beat Venom in both North America/domestic and global returns. And, while it also beat Wonder Woman's worldwide box office take, I don't think it will beat her domestic which is $412 million. Here in week 3, Aquaman is $238 million.
@Penguin-Dust: DCEU movies are too hard to predict...The General Audience couldn’t give a damn about JL, but is nutthugging Aquaman? Weird, but ok. ??♂️
@mickey-mouse: DC films aren't really hard to predict, they're falling the same path MCU did with the 6th making a billion or really close to it. Movie entry for movie entry, DC films have made more money.
I was a pre-Venom hater who scuffed at the idea of a Spidermanless universe and r-rating, thinking it would be like that atrocity deadfool... and today I just seen it and it's actually great. Aquaman will fail and look cheap compared to Marvel like all those dc before it.

Lol, No.
Oof.

Its at 940M now.
@emperorb777: I don’t think they made more of a profit though considering what they spent on Batman v Superman and Justice League. Maybe it just takes awhile for any franchise to catch on since like U mentioned this is number 6# like Avengers...
@mickey-mouse: Well the total budget for DCEU is at like 1.20 billion and it made 4.70 billion(don't think this includes Aquaman) in profit so yeah it's made way more than the MCU first 6 films did, especially when you consider that the second film in the MCU The Incredible Hulk only made 260 million(this is a true flop, budget was 150 million) compared to the second film in DCEU BvS which made 870 million(even if you half it because of budget, it still made way more).
I think we should wait and see how things go for DCEU because even though people think the franchise isn't doing to well, it's actually doing waaaay better than MCU at the same timeline.
@emperorb777: From What I read on MOS it only fully made a profit due to blue rays and streaming. SS was a full success, Batman V Superman barley made a profit, WW was a full success, JL was a loss I believe and of course Aquaman is a huge hit.
I can pull up individual articles from Forbes if you want to fact check me. The DCEU definitely was surprising results, but maybe it’s actually simple: GA said no more Synder please.
Maybe we can stop this "DECU is s struggling" nonsense. 6 films with a total take of $5 billion. Not as good/successful as Marvel (I mean for the big picture, not just the first 6 films for each) which is fair, as it's not been as good either. But that's not "struggling". Maybe we can also stop this "The DCEU needs (insert next film) to be a big hit to survive." No, it doesn't. If Shazam flops, the DCEU will still be here. For better or worse, it's here to stay for the foreseeable future.
