He'll have four cinematic appearances in the past decade by the time Dawn of Justice is out.

There's plenty of Batman; a TV show would be a waste.

A little off topic but still related.

I kinda feel it would out a shadow over it to have a Batman show now that Arrow has taken so much from his universe.

I really think that it's just too early to have one....a convincing live action costume is a pretty big budget on it's own...then we'd have to consider things like the Batmobile, the Bat Cave, the cgi for some of his villains....cgi and special effects are expensive...they would need a huge budget to make a well done Batman show....tv just isn't there yet

WB dont want him in TV, they believe it would hurt the money making of the movies.

Sure there are some problems.

But Sherlok shows what you can do with TV budget, so does Games of Thrones.

It would need to be made by a huge network and it wouldnt work as a normal show.

Sherlok are 3 TV Movies every season, style its very important but its there to help the show.

Games of Thrones isnt a 22 episodes long season and doesnt follow the normal mold of tv shows.

True Detective was going the extra mile in characterization and acting.

Hannibal where every frame its stylish artistic as it could, with great acting, good action scenes for a tv show, incredible acting, incredible storytelling and going beyond.

House of Cards seasons are movies made in a episodic format.

It would need something like this shows, also i think the fact its a tv show it would force it to be more plot driven, since thye would lack the budget, this made Game of Thrones get their style.

No Arrow Batman show type.

But something bigger, to work it would had to be a Television event.

Why should there be? Batman gets more than his share and because of it, its taken this long to see other characters in action.

The dark knight rises: 2012

Lego Movie: 2014

Batman v Superman: 2016

Justice League part 1: 2017

Justice League part 2: 2019

That is a lot of films in one decade. But still small compared to captain america.

Captain America first avenger: 2011

Avengers: 2012

Thor TDW: 2013

Captain America TWS:2014

Avengers AOU: 2015

Captain America Civil War: 2016

If you ask me Captain America has been on the market a lot.

My best guess would be the enormous production costs if you want good special effects, costumes, sets, high quality actors, etc, and WB/DC would rather just stick to movies where they know they'll make a bunch of money than risk spending a bunch of money on a show where it could bomb and cost them to lose tons of money.

Assuming we are talking only about solo movies (No X-men or Avengers), Batman had 3, which is equal to Iron Man's 3 and one movie more than Wolverine's 2. If you stretch it further than a decade, there are also the Tim Burton movies, not to mention the loads of cartoons (The Batman, Batman Beyond, Beware the Batman) and Gotham (The one Batman related show that isn't about Batman, but he still gets shoved into) if we're talking about mainstream entertainment. If anything, he's had way more exposure than anybody.

How about we have a show that doesn't involve any of the big 3 since DC D-rides them too much as it is.. they wouldn't make money without them so I guess it can't be helped.

Batman is a great character proven to sell but it's bad short sited business not make room and push other characters so they can shine. Batman isn't hurting if he doesn't get a tv show. There will be movies and animations.

And if we factor in the team movies as well, then Logan has X-3,and DOTF,Tony has Avengers and will star again in AOU,by the time BvS comes out there will another X-Men movie and Civil War. Batman has more staying power over the other 2,that's why he doesn't need team flicks but both Wolverine and Iron Man are the biggest things about their team movies. Stretching it more than a decade makes Wolverine and Iron Man even MORE exposed. So Batman has 7 movies in 25 years,Wolverine has 6 in 14,Iron Man has 4(5 really,AOU is close) in 7. Batman then averages a movie every 3.5 or so years while the others get one after every 1.5 years.

Cartoons do not reach wide amount of people that movies do,but there has been a fair few animations starring both characters.

I think from dc's perspective a batman tv show would just take away from the specialness/coolness factor of seeing him in movies to some degree.

  • Batman '66
  • Gotham (which just started. Holy cow)
  • Throw in his scores of animated appearances if it pleases you

There you go. C'mon there'e no shortage of cool Batman stuff out there. In fact, some may argue that there's too much (overexposure, hogging the spotlight from other characters).

Take into account that if DC's JL movie plans are similar to Marvel's, Batman will probably star in a least 3 or 4 more movies (Anyone who thinks that Batman won't be built up as the most important Leaguer in the movies is crazy).

The real reason is because Superman and Batman are offlimits for the tv shows. I personally rather see them develop the Justice League with TV shows instead of films. Their TV shows have wound up being better than a majority of their movies in recent years.

I think people fail to notice if Batman got a tv show, it wouldnt be like the movies, it would focus on other things.

Games of Thrones its the best evidence of how to make yourself to look like a higher budget.

It can work, but it would depend on the writing.

A show exploring Batman inner self and other thing, could cut budget needs and explore the character in a way movies wouldnt let it.

This its what i call WWE Cena booking.

No Caption Provided

Isnt Cena fault they only book him to be the main event.

Saddly the WWE fail to notice Cena can be used to put people over.

They should do the same with Batman, but trying to get Superman over isnt going to work, it would be like if they made a Hulk Hogan vs Cena feud and believe Hulk Hogan is going to get over thanks to this feud.

In another words, Batman should be jobbing other characters.

A Batman show would infringe upon the audiences of both Arrow and Gotham. It'd be counterproductive to make a show they KNOW will eclipse two other programs.

Besides, in the long term what they are doing now is far more profitable. They are giving lesser known heroes like Green Arrow, The Atom, Constantine, and Firestorm time in the spot light and reintroducing the Flash to the general public, as well as exploring the city of Gotham and Batman's supporting cast during a time before Bruce put on the cowl. Soon we'll have Supergirl which will give her time to grow on her own without her more famous cousin looming over her every step of the way, as well as a show about Krypton before it exploded.

DC's shows are taking risks and exploring their universe in a way they've never done before. We don't need shows starring the Trinity, they already have a massive fan base. Giving other characters a chance to shine will do wonders for variety, and showing people "Hey! We have more characters than JUST Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman!" could end up a huge number of new comic readers flooding the market.

Thing that hold WB from making a Batman TV Show is first that Batman is an A list Character and that makes money in big movies, and are afraid a tv show just destroy that.

But the must important thing is that while a tv show can describe in detail the beguining of his crime fighting carrear, they have problem bringing justice to the character even in the movies, Batman fights 90% of the time only with his hand and the weapons he uses are batarangs amounts other, and use them efficienly and with great accuracy, He uses fear to scare criminal, but the thing that is the must difficult is that batman fights with a super long cape that he uses while fighting and glide, between many more things, is very difficult to trully capture the moves and fighting of batman in movies and in tv show with less bugets even more.

If you think, oh but they did a Green Arrow Tv show and he fights and jump of buldings, and is true, but the thing is that Green Arrow is not Batman. Do not get me wrong I love the Arrow Tv Show, but Batman moves when he fight and the way he fights are in a complete different level. Even the way Batman jumps of buildings is way different, is those things that defined Batman.

Arrow TV Show is like a super spies tv show. Now Batman is like Supergirl or Superman Tv Show, where they fly arough and fight super powers guys that can shot energy beans and things, now something like that is batman, together with bean a Detective/Super Spies/Occult/Super Powers/Martial Arts TV Show .

Batman is a master of stealth, a human that makes the strongest of character on the DC Universe think twice when they hear that is coming. His fights even against normal criminal is epic.

If in no movies of Batman they could make Batman-Batman how would they do in a tv show.

WB had a rule against Live Action movies and series involving the same character being in production at the same time. They're starting to move past that, but only tenatively. Still hoping for Nightwing to show up on Arrow.
