Why Is Hank Pym A Wife Beater But Not Peter Parker?

Whenever Hank Pym get's brought up it's always a matter of time before someone claims that he's a scumbag wife beater and that was even the reason given as to why he's not going to be the hero of the Ant Man movie or part of the Avengers. Yet nobody ever brings up the fact that Peter Parker also hit a pregnant MJ? At least Hank had the excuse that toxic gases has turned him schizophrenic.

Does knocking your wife/partner away from you make you a wife beater? I think that's all that Hank did also. It's totally different from giving your wife/partner black eyes and broken bones and throwing them out and sending them to the hospital in a habitual manner. A bit of an overreaction I think.

Because Spider-Man is the face of Marvel.

Pretty sure this has been done before. Basically because everyone wants to forget the Clone Saga and writers keep bringing up Hank hitting Janet. It's beating a dead horse and completely ignoring the bigger source of potential drama: HE MADE F'IN ULTRON! That robot who wants to eliminate all organic life? They were finally moving on in Avenger's Academy but it's only a matter of time...

Because Spidey treats his barrels with respect. srsly Pete is more popular...I honestly like Hank regardless of his past.

Anyways I don't consider what Peter did wife beating. He clearly didn't intended to do it as seen by how he acted after.

It's because they made Ultimate Hank Pym a sadistic wife beater and people associate the two.

Is that the official reason he's being sidelined in the films?

2.the incident with Pete happened during the clone saga which is an event people would rather ignore anyway

Because Marvel thinks he wouldn't be relatable to those that 'do' beat their wife's, but that can't be right because Spider-Man would have to be married so he can 'beat' his wife, so they just had him take his marriage away by the Devil and single so fans can relate to him. UGH!

He isn't a wife beater. It was a heat of the moment thing. He didn't need to hit her like that though.

Reed Richards not only hit Sue back in the day but he also made some pretty damn sexist comments to her as well.

Do people get confused with Ultimate Hank Pym? Because that guy is without a doubt a straight up wife-beating jerk.

616 Hank Pym is a good guy though, only happened once and he has continually shown remorse over it. Hank and Janet have actually repaired their relationship a great deal since the divorce

@blackwind: yup, but to be fair, he only hit her to try and shake her Malice persona. Same with some of his comments.

Because Marvel's writers never understood that Pym was highly unstable at that time. Marvel needs to stop butchering Pym; he's not the main Antman in the movie, he didn't make Ultron in the movie, now I'm just waiting for Marvel to portray him as a wifebeater villain in the movie.

This all happened, just because writers couldn't just shut up about that incident. The media is mentally handicapped and would never let someone be the main role in a movie, if they had a well known record of hitting his wife. If Pym was the protagonist, there would be a sh#tstorm.

Peter Parker hit her only one time. Hank Pym is shown to hit him multiple times because of gas inhaled and sometimes due to ego issues. Peter didn't want to hit him. It was more of unintentional. It is evident from the behaviour afterwards.

He didn't did it again.

I think unintentional behaviour 1 times can be forgiven rather than behaviour did many times whether it is unintentional or intentional.
