This has probably been done before, but I would like to talk about why I think each of the South Park kids pick the side they pick in “The Fractured But Whole.”

Cartman/Coon: It’s Coon and Friends, no doi.

Kenny/Mysterion: He didn’t get his own movie(BTW, that is probably because Cartman is still mad about him stealing his thunder when they both became superheroes)

Kyle/Human Kite: It is a matter about principles(god dammit Kyle!). The franchise plan SHOULDN’T be changed just to be more inclusive, it should only be about how to make the best superhero franchise as possible… that, and he get’s to have two movies.

Stan/Toolshed: Stan is actually a sensible person, so he can see that the franchise plan is douchy.

Clyde/Mosquito: His past actions gives us the impression that he actually likes Cartman. He laughs at his jokes and he even(kinda out of nowhere) stood up for him when he claimed that the girls could see into the future.

Token/Tupperware: He had to wait to get introduced till phase 3 because he is black? HELL NAW!

Craig/Super Craig: He liked the plan because he got his own movie. And after Tweek left, he stayed to spite him.

Tweek/Wonder Tweek: He got pissed because he only got to co-star in one of Craig’s movies. Also, Craig didn’t leave with him, so it was also about pissing him off.

Jimmy/Fastpass: Jimmy is too nice for his own good sometimes and probably thought it would be impolite to leave the group he had just joined.

Timmy/Doctor Timothy: He left first because he is smarter than he appears to be and realized before anyone else that Cartman’s plan sucked and began making one where everyone would be included.

Scott/Captain Diabetes: He was most likely asked to join Coon and Friends after they lost a whole lot of members. Cartman was so desperate when he realized how popular the Freedom Pals were compared to his group that he began grabbing after straws, even a loser straw with diabetes.

it makes sense really: the Coon appears to be less dark, but is more likely to kill his enemies, not get involved in minor crimes like bank robbery or natural disasters, have merchandise made for him, and not have a secret identity. Mysterion, meanwhile, might appear darker on the surface, but is undoubtedly the more principled of the two, and seen more as a symbol for truth and justice. just like Marvel and DC movie heroes.
