Why do so many people hate the Arrowverse?

I honestly love it. I think it truly captures the essence of superheroes. Change my mind?

I don't hate it, and in fact I watch many of the Arrowverse shows, but they are undeniably overrated. The writing on most is trash tier and the fighting/effects are mediocre at best TBH.

Because despite all the criticism and hate the DCEU is a million times better...

@solar_nerd: Not surprised. To put it into perspective, comic version of Iris is my favorite superhero/comic love interest. That by itself should give you an idea as to why I don't like this verse. There is also "Olicity" relationship, CW drama and "the one thing Black Flash can't fight...COLD". There is also that "run Barry run" cliche, broken science and I can go on and on. Of course, I respect people who like this Universe. But since you asked yourself, I guess I am entitled to complain about it LMAO. For the record, I liked first two Arrow and Flash seasons and Arrow Season 5.

I've always wondered this, it gets too much hate.

Lol I love iris. She has some of the best moments with Barry although season 4 was a low point for her. The writers did not know what to do with her this season. Have her be a reporter, she was useful that way.

Let's see;

• Objectively bad acting
• Lazy writing
• Terrible editing
• Horribly shot, choreographed and delivered fight sequences (in a show that is 1/3 fight scene related)

It never ceases to amaze me how many die hard fans of this low budget excuse for a CMB/TV Show (referring to Arrow) exist out there. It's litteraly under-hated lol. The fact that people even attempt to compare it to quality CBM television speaks miles of that.

I mean sure, opinions opinions but wow.

It's easier to hate than to love.

80% of the acting is awful

The writing is trash worse than smallville

Crappy effects

Bad choreography

Horrible storylines and season arcs

Look at Dardevil a cheap Netflix show who had better fight scenes than all of the arrowverse

Because there is a lot of teeny bopper writing in all of the CW shows. Not saying the shows don't have their moments but they're definitely a little on the overrated side imo.

It’s extremely overrated. The writing is lazy, over the top at the best of times and boring at the worst. Outside a handful of villains (the number of which you can count on one finger), the villains are downright awful. Even the great villains, the majority of them have suffered from pretty bad villain decay over the course of their combined shows. Acting is mediocre overall, with a couple of great performances here or there. Characterization is inconsistent, which takes you out of what you’re watching over the course of the seasons. There are maybe four or five great seasons I’ve seen (in Arrow, Flash, and Legends). All the rest are nearly unwatchable.

Remember how one of the last episodes shows us Iris posting a blog about DeVoe, and now people literally see him around and inform the Team Flash about him? Like, the level of laziness and absurdity is just beyond measurement. Like:

1. DeVoe can easily kill any single person that sees him.
2. DeVoe can just control all the phones, computers and iPads and prevent anyone from giving away any info on him.
3. DeVoe can teleport so how people noticed him is beyond me.
4. DeVoe can change his appearance for God's sake. Can you really be this stupid?
5. DeVoe is way smarter than all humans in Central City combined. Do you really expect to take advantage using social media?

It's like they were listening to the fans who were saying "if you want to make Iris useful, make her do what she is suppose to do, be a reporter and a blogger". And they do that in the most cartoonish, most unbelievable way possible. You really expect me to take that seriously? It's like saying you will stop Annihilation wave by making traffic lights that float in space.

Your second part doesn't answer the question... Teenage girls are the people who love the CW.

Edit: Maybe I should put it this way, if people asked you why others mocked anime do you say because their main audience is Japanese? No....

For the most part people outside of CV hate the Arrowverse for these two reasons.

1. Decline in quality over seasons.
2. The leading women Felicity and Iris.

That's it. CV on the other hand have many reasons to hate it, there are too many to name. For the most part people outside of CV love the Arrowverse, I know multiple people who actually liked season 3 of Flash despite having nothing to like and actually liked season 6 of Arrow.....

For me perovskites, I hated the teen drama. But that’s not just the arrow verse, it’s all cw. But some people love that, so to each their own.

The writing can get really horrible and cringy. The fight scenes are terribly choreographed.

There are some reasons to like the Arrowverse but there are plenty of reasons to dislike it as well.

Too much poor writing on it.

Bad choreography, bad acting, unnecessary and annoying drama, stupid character decisions, bad writing, inconsistency, etc.

Even the best of Arrow have these.

Legends of Tomorrow is aight....

I agree, the Arrowverse is way too overhated.

Sometimes the show has bad writing, like the unapologetic-ally stupid "hashtag feminism" scene. But as a whole, the Arrowverse has a lot of great scenes, great characters, and great action.

Legends of Tomorrow is probably the only thing watchable in the Arrowverse. I mean it's super campy too but they are at least not pretentious. The rest of the shows are teenage dramas disguised as superhero shows and the worst is, they pretend to be something they are not.

Don't get me wrong, I still absolutely love Arrow Season1 and Season2 but after that, the percentage of melodrama increased and the percentage of gritty moments and badassery decreased significantly. Melodrama works for certain characters but Arrow should definitely not be corny and melodramatic.

So like others have said, at this point it's easier to hate those shows than to love them.

Because its subjective. I have seen people who hate LoT and people who think its the best cb show on air right now.

Arrowverse is probably the most successful comic book franchise after MCU. It will have its fair share of fans and haters.

Felicity. Felicity. Felicity. I dropped the show because she was so fucking annoying. Worse then Skylar from breaking bad.

No but for reals its so stupid. Its like any other CW show but with superheroes. Nothing but high school level drama with bad choreography and its dumb.

I personally like most CW series, not just their comic book live action.

The legends is a good show, but they’re honestly just the rejects of the other shows lmao. And every show has an annoying thing about them.

Flash: Barry’s daughter and iris

Legends: I don’t really like how everyone is leaving the legends

Supergirl: basically the same villain every time tbh, all are related to krypton

I don't think its hated. I just think most feels indifferent about the CW. Or just plain thinks it sucks. You can not like something without hating it, right?

CW is simple tripe I don't watch. I personally think it's some of the most random, soulless comic shows of all time but I don't "hate" them.

I personally don't hate it, but I do think the quality of the shows went down.

CW overall is getting way too political for my taste. I want to enjoy a show and if you want to sprinkle in politics like every 3 episodes that's fine, but this is too much.

I think the only people who cares enough to actually hate it is some DC fans. Because like it or not it does represent DC quality. People will look at those shows and say "DC sucks."

Because it's popular. And other reasons, but that's a big one.

It actually seriously hinders my enjoyment of the website, to constantly see this unwarranted vitriol and vindictiveness towards a TV show that I really like. It's like some users actually want to make me feel bad because I like the show and they don't.

I guess they're angry over their situation in real life and this is their vent.

When you say "so many people" you just mean majority of CV.... Everyone outside of CV tends to like it.

No TV show will last this long if people hated it. Just look at the 2 Marvel Netflix shows, they already got canceled.

I want the show to go on for two more seasons just to watch fellow viners piss themselves off on how much they hate arrow and felicity.

I think they should have just put all their resources into Arrow and Flash. The more they've branched out, the more the quality has gone down.

Arrowverse and MCU are ever the worst comics adaptations.

- Many cliches about Green Arrow tells Green Arrow is a Batman bis, that steals all the villains from Batman's universe. The arrowverse gives right to detractors.

-Black Canary is like Black Widow or Mockingbird, they are supposed to take part the best martial artists in the world, being better in hand-to-hand fight than their husband (Hawkeye, Green Arrow), which are focused on the fight long range.

-Where is the Count Vertigo? The Count is one of two Green Arrow's archenemies.

-Where is Perdita? Where is Vlatava?

-What is that garbage Connor Hawke? Connor Hawke is the Oliver's metis son.

-Where is Mia Dearden?

-Roy Harper is supposed to be Green Arrow and Black Canary's adopted son

-What is that garbage Ricardio Diaz? Why don't we know how he had become so powerful? In comics, he is the Richard Dragon's disciple. Richard Dragon being the best martial artist in the DC Universe, better than Batman, Lady Shiva or Bronze Tiger and getting the dragon claw.

-What is those garbage Longbow hunters?

-What is that garbage League of Assassins?

-What is that garbage Mr. Terrific? Isn't supposed to take part three characters most intelligent in DC Universe?

-Felicity sucks! Felicity sucks!

-Why does Oliver never make jokes or name Black Canary "Pretty bird"?

-Why doesn't Oliver get political position?

-The Oliver's frenemies is supposed to be Hawkman not Flash.

All of these, really.

But this too, so I will give it the respect it deserves. It's made something pretty amazing.

Because CW characters have better feats than other people's favorite la characters.
