Why are they killing off John Stewart?

He's the most known of the Lanterns due to the JLU t.v. show and so DC in all it's wisdom decides to kill him. Causing the upcoming writer to Resign.

I think Kyle and John have more potential as Lanterns than Hal does. I feel like everything that can be told about Hal has been told. Also, Simon Baz is promising. Killing John would be pretty stupid if you ask me.

I would be mad, but DC doesn't even know what to do with John.

Geoff Johns has nothing to do with it. he wont even be writing GL t the time and has been punking Hal out for virtually everyone in the DC Universe since the New 52 started. christ at least complain when it makes sense.

Wouldn't bother me, all the GLs are more interesting than John, Kyle, Hal, and yes, even Guy.

I think John is probably the most underrated GL. It wouldn't surprised me if DC abused him, since I don't think they particular care about that character.

yes this would make sense if it werent for the fact that...it...well....doesnt. Geoff has already finished writing his last issue and focusing more on the Justice League. so for all intents and purposes, he isnt in charge of the GL universe anymore. he's also been doing his best to make Hal look like a punk since the New 52 started.

Getting beaten like an unwanted stepchild by the writers. They have the power to improve his character or to pull him into the mists of obscurity. They seem to be doing the latter.

So Hal Jordan hasn't been the main Green Lantern longer than any other Lantern? He also didn't have his own movie starring Ryan Reynolds? He's also not in the upcoming Injustice video game? He also wasn't in Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe? He wasn't in Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes? He didn't have an episode with Duck Dodgers? He wasn't the star of that Green Lantern animated series that was just on? He's not the first Green Lantern to come up when you google "Green Lantern"? Hal is Hal, he is the best Green Lantern there is. Kyle is the White Lantern. Guy is possibly being set up to become a Red Lantern. Simon is clearly being set up to be powerful with abilities other GLs don't possess. John should be designated for assignment to clean up cosmic street crime, just like they hinted at when they first announced the creative team changes. Not every damn GL story needs to be a universal threat. Maybe send one of these GLs out into space and time kind of like the Fantastic Four are doing right now. No need to kill off the character though.

John is an ok GL and doesn't screw up as much as Baz or Hal, but he has no fun or interesting stories. i rank my Lanterns like so,

6.Boring other earth Lanterns.
