Who's a better hero? Light Yagami (Death Note) or (MCU) Thanos?
Light by light years.
Light intelligently chooses which people to kill while the other one doesn't. Thanos can literally destabilize an entire civilization by randomly killing half of it's people at least, he's really not saving anyone.
Of course, I don't really consider them as "heroes".
Neither
Neither.
Light might have started out with doing good in mind but by the end he was taking out anyone that stood in his way and trying to save his own ass. Thanos is only a hero in his own mind.
Light. He wasn't stupid enough to believe saving resources meant killing plants and animals.
While light was a maniac let's not pretend his plan wasn't working forbthe bettermebt of atleast Japan.
Neither, both are villains. Light was never a good guy, him killing criminals only at first was part of his god complex. His god complex was fully revealed when he started killing any and everyone that opposed him.
@quinlan58: You seriously believe these beings are villains... wow... Thanos balanced the universe while Light attempted to clean it... How is there anything wrong with that?
@phantomocelot: Yes they are heroes. They are bigger heroes then your worst enemy... “Grammar.”
Light is an intelligent sociopath who tried to rely on some ethical/moral standards to justify his actions of creating order and reshaping his immediate society according to his own personal preference.
MCU Thanos is just a poorly written character with stupid motivations and dumb non-sensical actions.
He didn't restored any balance or any of those shit.
Neither are heroes. Thanos wanted to kill half of all life in the universe, apparently not taking into consideration that in doing so pretty much all individual societies would easily collapse into anarchy and eventual destruction.
Light wanted to rule over a perfect world filled with only those he has determined to be good and hard working. He started by killing criminals, then all those who tried to stop him. You could actually condone those actions as being the Greater Good; however, he was planning to kill all those who don't actively contribute to society once he was accepted as God. At that point Lind L. Tailor incidents would be all over the place, and being lazy would warrant the death penalty.
At the end of the day, Light wanted to create practically a utopia entirely dependent on Kira, but everyone would have to help it or die. Thanos's plan would be utterly catastrophic for everyone.
Therefore, Light is more of a hero but he's nowhere near as righteous as some would believe. He went too far, would murder so many innocents, for that to be the case.
Neither
Neither
If I have to choose, Light is less sympathetic than Thanos since he does come across more of an asshole. Willing to kill anybody who goes against his way, while Thanos might spare you. Light want to essentially be god, while Thanos geniunely want peace.
That being said, Light goal for world peace seem more tangible than Thanos. Thanos plan in theory would help stabilize overpopulation, but it would not stop crime, theft, rape, murder, war etc. Light plan did decrease crime by a huge percent. While he might have kill some innocents, he help decrease the number of murders.
So Thanos personality is more of a hero, but the one with the better result is Light.
Hm. Thanos is the more compassionate and fairer of the two. Light thought he was a righteously judgeful God, thinking anyone in his way not only worth killing, but an affront to his "pure" mindset, his arrogance knew no bounds. Thanos thought he was right in what he was doing, but he did so indiscriminately, knowing that he has no right to judge. His plan was just stupid, but that's whatever. i think Thanos, while dumb, was more in the moral right. Neither are heroes. Killing is bad.
