Who should be the next black panther in the MCU
Neither Shuri or Okoye please. Shuri is an engineer not a warrior and Okoye is just a terrible character whose main characteristic is looking angry all the time.
Either recast T'Challa or M'Baku
@j_normal: That's right.
Nakia is the best choice for Black Panther. Not only is she a skilled combatant, meaning she should do well at Warrior Falls, but she's already learned in diplomatic matters concerning the outside world, having shown more care for those outside of Wakanda than either Shuri or M'Baku (T'Challa > M'Baku ~ Okoye > Nakia)
M'Baku is a good runner up for ruler, but he can't be Black Panther given his following Hanuman, so Man-Ape it is. He is also a skilled combatant, and most likely superior to Nakia given his performance against T'Challa.
Shuri has displayed neither diplomatic abilities for the outside world, nor has she displayed any real combative skill. Her being T'Challa's sister should not be what gets her the mantle. She'll have to grow exponentially in the film for it to make sense.
Okoye is Dora Milaje, neither a royal, nor the chosen of a tribe. She has no right to the throne or mantle, as good of a person as she is. That's just how things are.
@darkvanderling: I wouldn't mind a recast for T'Challa. The cast pick just needs to live up to Boseman's hype and maintain T'Challa's nobility. I'm sure Shuri will be an awesome Black Panther but the actress is getting too much bad press being anti-vax. Sometimes you just need to keep out of certain geo-political topics when you are in Hollywood because if you go to extremes, the phone calls you get for new roles starts to dwindle.
@ravenvice01: That’s a different issue all together. Letitia Wright getting shat on for anti-vax view is stupid and I wouldn’t be surprised if Hollywood leftists cancel her. Thing is, I don’t really think Letitia Wright’s acting is all that good for her to lead the film. T’Challa is the Black Panther and yes he should be recasted. That’s what Chadwick Boseman would’ve wanted, RIP.
I think recasting him this soon is a dishonor to the way Boseman played the character. I really can't see anyone else playing the character.
Who do I wan't? No one. But if I had to choose probably M'Baku.
Who's more likely? Shuri or Okoye.
@darkvanderling: I agree with you about Boseman. As for Leticia, she wasn't bad in my opinion in the first Black Panther but we will just have to wait see what her take will be while wearing the mantle. If it doesn't pan out, Shuri and T'Challa can be recast with someone who can do it just as good or better.
As for T'Challa, I would have just created a presumption that T'Challa is dead but he is actually MIA. Coogler could have just said T'Challa was on a diplomatic mission with Atlantis but was presumed dead. In actuality, he has amnesia and he is living in New York as a vagrant where he meets Monica Lynne.

Recast Black Panther.
I get the points being made for recasting Black Panther, but seriously come on. These characters aren't just toys to be replaced. Boseman was T'challa, and no matter who they recast they will always be compared to Boseman. Doesn't matter how good the movie is, the question will be, " Did he do as good a job as Boseman?" If they make the wrong casting choice, its over. No one will like the movie because the actor didn't live up to what Boseman set up. This is the safest and best choice marvel can make at the moment. Just hope the movie does him justice.
@chris2kzombieki: It’s a role dude. People aren’t gonna dislike the movie just because there’s a new Tchalla especially if they recast for a renowned and talented black actor, him dying off screen with a sickness is pathetic

Just saying, what would happen if they made the wrong choice and recasted the wrong actor? Just a role? You may see it that way, but the actor needs to connect with the audience. To make the audience care. Would you be ok with RDJ being recasted after being in 4 movies? Evans? Hemsworth?
I don't know how they will play this story, but I only hope its a good movie.
@ajak_xiv: I'm not against recasting T'Challa.
I'm against recasting T'Challa now. I would be fine with the recast, but if they release the movie now, then they shouldn't recast him. It's WAY too soon.
A T’Challa from another universe is what should be done. It also likely and shouldn’t be done in the next film. And could be done in a epic MCU teamup blockbuster film. Like a potential Secret Wars as a surprise but T’Challa’s story should continue
This
Im confused why people aren’t in board with Okoye. In MCU cannon she is the second best Wakandan warrior and has been seen the most combat in the Universe.
This too.
He should’ve been recasted in all honestly
