Arya Stark
Who is the most Mary Sue character ever?
@codybax: we call it gary-stu
@achievedhero: literally goku pulling powerups out of his ass.
cringe.
@omnipotent94: “Lost to Superman” as in barely beat him.

And that was after he defeated all of the other Justice League members.
OT: Doctor Doom.
@tobymaguire: Batman isn’t a Mary Sue, he’s just stupidly broken in Justice League stories.
@mister_surreal: We will agree to disgree
@tobymaguire: Alright.
@mister_surreal: superman tore his suit into pieces the moment he got serious and batman was scared of facing him. He was only toying with because joker told him to. I count that as a loss no matter how much batman spits in his eye. I know he defeated all the other justice league members but this was about superman.
@omnipotent94: OK, I just don’t technically see that as a loss but whatever.
@tobymaguire: Is it not showing?
@shyan: You act like you about to change my mind or something. He's a boring character. Point blank period. Everyone's entitled to their opinions like how you for whatever reason thinks he's an interesting one.
@adm1ralsnackbar: Wonder Woman is a Mary Sue? I just know her movie version, but isn't the whole point of the character how imperfect and naive she is?
I think the Superman from the old movies, despite me liking him could be considered a Mary Sue. And maybe Admiral Thrawn sometimes, despite me liking him too.
@captain_narlowe: How is she naive? Ares was responsible for the war. She was right all along.
All of the characters mentioned so far are far from flawless and thus shouldn't be considered a Mary Sue or Gary Stu.
As for everyone saying Rey due to her not having in-universe explanations for her power level and abilities, maybe that will be coming in the next movie? I mean it is titled "The Rise of Skywalker" and all.
@tobymaguire: She is naive about humans and the world in general, and just because she was accidentaly right doesn't mean her views on war were not naive.
@batmanplusjay: Have you ever read any Superman comic?
How in God's name is Wolverine a Mary Sue?
Honestly, 90% of characters mentioned here are not Mary Sue.
@shyan: No. And don't want to.
@adm1ralsnackbar: Wonder Woman is a Mary Sue? I just know her movie version, but isn't the whole point of the character how imperfect and naive she is?
He is just a very obvious troll, if even Diana would be already a Mary Sue, makes that Clark a Super-Mary Sue and Hal Jordan an Ultra-Mary Sue.
Hal Jordan fits to the topic though, cause they jumped the shark with him and turned him really often into a Mary Sue.
@alsimmons77: I don't know, i just started to read a bit Superman so far.
@omnipotent94: sorry but the Hulk is very Marty/Gary stu-ish. He can see astral bodies, punch a hole into the fabric of reality, gets stronger the angrier he becomes and is said to be limitless (even Superman has limits). Limitless means his strength has no end. There is no draw-back to accessing his powers. He has the best healing factor, is immortal all of a sudden, can tank objects that are supposed to be way beyond his registered strength level. Can fly from planet/galaxy to galaxy by jumping. He fought Doctor Strange and the sorcerer supreme was nerfed so that Hulk would win. How on earth should DS have allowed Hulk to get that close? DS is nearly if not god-like. And a Marty-stu isn't always someone that has many flaws, but someone that has more flaws that others, they're so broken that everyone must have sympathy for them. Their abilities don't make sense. They don't or hardly rely on anyone because they can do almost if not everything. Cosmic beings or beings of top-tier powers are not such because they have always been stated to be that powerful e.g. you can't call TOAA a MS because he/she has always been that powerful from the get go; omnipotent. Some people even believe that the Hulk could beat/defeat TOAA or LT because he has been written to have powers that have no bearing on his power-set.
@the_living_tribunal_24: I call it a Marty-stu like so many others.
Probably something from the works amateurish/third rate writers nobody really knows.
Out of popular franchise I can think of now, Rey.
Most of these characters aren’t Mary Sues they’ve been made to suffer. A character who always gets alway with their stupid behavior due to plot is more like anime Goku. Especially the dubbed version.
Mr Perfect Chin, god's righteous man, with the always undeniably superior ethical code, the badass poses and the stereo blue eyes and blond hairdo. He got all the ladies he don't ask for, he can always get the job done, he's the best ever at what he does with 3 years of effort and adjustment to the new world. A living, breathing mothereffing icon with the hearthbreaking smile and the intimidating look, the center of the world. This is Steve Rogers we're talking about - he tends to inspire. He tends to inspire the meanest, baddest director of SHIELD ever, he tends to inspire random people on the street who then follow him to death the next day because Cap needs their help. He tends to inspire the strictest, coldest of government agents, he can turn an assassin to a superhero with a look. His newly acquired beard doesn't take away from his charm, just adds to his manliness. The gentle god of testosterone who is respected by the intergalactic wargods, the confident, beautiful, mean face, the only other mortal worthy of lifting the magical hammer. So always remember to get your hot lunch.
When Captain America throws his mighty shield, we will still love him.
1. Superman
2. Captain America
I could've put in Goku but he's not invincible. He once got his spotlight stolen by his son Gohan, and has died a few times. Only got revived. He's also not that bright.
Superman
Finally!
People saying CW Oliver must be smoking some real good stuff.
Ginny, Molly, Hermione(?), from Harry Potter.
I guess Superman can be considered one, based on my knowledge. Batman obviously isn't one.
CW Oliver is most definitely not a Mary Sue.
I don't think Hermione is either since her by the rules attitude is considered to be difficult and annoying in-universe. Mary Sues can't have any annoying quirks or difficult personality traits.
@anthp2000: sooo....he’s a good looking guy with a moral compass?
@ourmanuel: Low-ball.
@anthp2000: I’m not really seeing how he’s a Mary Sue....
Unless that post was one big elaborate bait.
@ourmanuel: Was it.
Rey and MCU Carol come to mind.
