Who is the defintive Flash for you? Wally or Barry?
Barry. I feel he embodies the Flash concept the best. I also think his relationship with his villains are far ore interesting than Wallys was when he took over.
I'll give Wally his due, he helped push the Flash lore to better heights but I personally prefer Barry. I also think when you strip away the super hero aspect of the character Barry has a more interesting background and lore, hell I even like his design in and out the costume more.
Tl;Dr - Wally is a great character but I feel the best thing about his time as the Flash was never his character imo
Wally. His character arc of overcoming his own self imposed anxieties and becoming the very best superhero he could be throughout Waid's original run is the reason why he's my favorite superhero.
Wally has always been my guy. I started reading comics again a few years after Crisis, so Barry was mostly just a legend by then.
I find it interesting not just here but in comments in YouTube a large part of Wally's current gen fanbase comes from the cartoon despite the DCAU Wally at best being more Bart Allen in personality. Goes to show you how much the DCAU did for DC fanss
@stormshadow_x: fully agree with that.
Tbh that’s still my best version of Superman in terms of character and portrayal loved that he was a leader and could be serious but not grim dark like batman and still inspired hope.
Wally for me, but I wish I read the comics where he was trying to get past being a lesser Flash. He had a cool personality in Justice League and Justice League Unlimited.
Wally. Everything that makes the Flash...Flash was based off of Wally. I mean look at the CW show. The majority of the Villains are Wally's villians. Even some of the terminology, The Lightning Rod phrase that Barry uses all the time was Wally's line, Hell they even used Wally's wife as a love interest for Barry. Simply because Barry wasn't interesting enough to have a show.
Up until Crisis On Infinite Earths, Barry was kind of a loser IMO. And that was really his only defining moment for me. Wally took the name Flash and bolstered it to unknown heights. Wally's the best.
I had to really think about this. I grew up with Wally, most of the flash comics I've read consisted of mostly Wally. It's a tough choice, but Wally is the definitive flash for me.
Barry truly is the Gwen Stacy of major heroes. His defining moment is his death. And his personality is about as interesting as Gwen's, too.
Bruuuuh
Voted Barry, but now... IDK it's hard.
about the Lanterns, it's always at that way
Hal > John > Kyle
I just find it funny how Flash used to be Barry, then the mantle went to Wally and back to Barry again. I was also expecting to see more Barry responses seeing how many kids are on here.
Barry’s character is more likeable. He has a better backstory and his stories are on average better.
Wally. JLA was the first thing comic related I was exposed to as a kid so Wally being the Flash was the norm for me.
Barry because his villain is better Reverse Flash > Zoom
and also because whenever I hear the name flash Barry Allen is the first name that comes through my head
Wally for me
Barry is a great flash but wally has the better story and character development IMO.
Mostly new readers would go for barry tho.
Barry Animations post 2010 are awesome... Wally at JLU is great as well in my opinion, Barry is more relatable, tho
I liked wally from the DCAU first, but, his personality is more like from Bart Allen (which is what most people love)
BARRY WINS
