Thor actually has H2H feats as seen in his depowered state. Diana literally has none. This question shouldn't be asked

We've seen how impressive SHIELD agents can be in the show, and Thor walked through a group of them in his first movie.

Has Diana actually had to do anything other than brute-force her opponents?

I feel like WW is more skilled because she knows how to use more weapons than Thor. Idk if there's skill involved in swinging a hammer.

We've seen him using a mace and shield, two swords, and a giant war hammer against the Hulk, a spear (Gungnir) and swords against Hela, a big axe (Stormbreaker), and more frequently, a hammer (Mjolnir). How many weapons have we seen Diana use?

And there's obviously a great deal of skill in the way Thor uses Mjolnir.

And he actually has some good H2H feats.

They're equal in terms of movie fighting skill

They pretty seem equal movie wise.

I'm only going to say Thor because he's been an active combatant for 1500 Years. Diana was only off her island for a One hundred years, while on the island she only sparred. If we're only going off feats then...Yea it's equal.

Edit: Eh,I'm leaning toward Thor a bit still.

Diana.

Disarming Antiope (the best Amazon warrior) through skill (while being more concerned about Hippolyta watching her) and tossing around Ares, the God of War, is better than beating glorified fodder.

Diana has shown actual skill with her weapons, Thor relies more on his strength and powers.

I think we all need to come to a common understanding of what 'skill' entails.

Can someone explain what it is exactly?

-Thor shows skill beating SHIELD fodder while human

-Thor shows skill beating Asgardian fodder while Asgardian

-Loki shows skill beating Dark Elf fodder

-Thor shows skill fighting the Hulk while massively out of his weight class, two times.

-Thor shows skill fighting Hela who is massively stronger, and more experienced, ridiculously skilled, fought an army and only got tagged a few times. In the end Thor showed skill dominance over her.

-Thor has a variety of fodder feats, feats against other skilled rivals, and feats while physically inferior.

-Thor is just a brawler.

To the people going on and on about Thor fighting 3 Asgardians: You realize that is a deleted scene, right? Since when do we count those?

@TheGrat1: It's still valid since it shows the writer's intent and isn't contradicted by anything else that happens in the movie.

Still Thor.

He actually has H2H feats, and doesn’t get outclassed by people like Ludendorff and Antiope.

Honestly, I feel like in canon they're supposed to be the same. In that they are gods/demigoddess with thousands/hundreds of years of experience. I rank skill based on how closely they resemble real life martial artists. So like MMA for unarmed combat and HEMA for armed combat. And to be honest, neither are really that impressive.

Thor has better boxing, but honestly that might just boil down to the fact that Chris Hemsworth has good kickboxing. The choreography of Thor isn't really trying it's hardest to make Thor look super skilled, but Hemsworth throws good hooks and teeps. Wonder Woman's hand to hand is your typical Hollywood pseudo-kung fu, which doesn't help. Thor has also tried to choke the Hulk and managed a back-take, but ultimately the attempt was unsuccessful and reversed. Though to be fair, nobody can realistically grapple the Hulk's giant frame unless they are giant too. Edge goes to Thor just cause some boxing is better than nothing at all.

In terms of weapons skill, nothing really to write home for either of them. They have weapons that let them do impossible things, and those impossible things are more effective than any real life technique. Like Thor spinning his hammer and turning rocks into bullets is more effective than any fencing move lol. Wonder Woman's sword can cut through most things in her universe, so she doesn't even fence with it. Funnily enough, Thor technically shows a mordhau here, which is an advanced move for armoured fighting. I doubt it's intentional though, so unsure how to classify this as a feat. Also if he didn't have superhuman grip strength, holding the blade with just one hand could have caused it to slide, and that would have cut his hand.

Deleting the scene also shows director/studio intent. It is not canon.

Diana is explicitly the most skilled Amazon (if a bit naive) before she gained her divine powers. So the lady who's better than an entire island of immortal women who've done nothing but train and fight every day for 10's of thousands of years is more skilled.

@mrtrey:

That's a pretty weak argument. Asgard is at least as old as Themyscira, and unlike the Amazons, Asgard has fought actual wars against other intergalactic powers like the Dark Elves and Frost Giants.

Not to mention that Asgard actually conquered the entire 9 Realms. That's way more impressive than anything Themyscira has done.
