Who is a better example of masculinity: Superman or Thor?
Superman. There's more to being a man than just being brave and strong, Superman has a lot more traits of healthy masculinity.
Which is what Thor learned once he matured
Thor looks more rugged, I think he represents masculinity more.
While Superman is more chivalrous and a better hero.
The only thing that panel proves is the fact that Batman is an asshole.
One is based on the ideals of people from thousands of years ago, the other is based on the ideals of contemporary people. Take your pick.
So feminist want good strong men, with unwavering morales and who can be inspiration of hope for many?
If so why is that a bad thing?

And a savage, too, methinks. Though I suppose in this case they go hand in hand
As for yonder scans...
Thor is more masculine. Superman is more heroic. People are somehow confusing the two.
If you want to see who's more masculine just look no further than what happens when you make Superman even a little bit angry.
@the_gaurdian: Your point?
@ghostodoofus2: Theyre more badass when reading the full stories but I think these are pretty masculine examples
@the_gaurdian: I read Superman: Unchained ages ago (I assume the other story is from Johns's JL run), I don't think getting angry is necessarily masculine, it can sometimes be a hint of insecurity (not saying that's Supes case, I'm stating the general case); being aggressive is however a characteristic of having high testosterone and being in need of outlets, do not confuse anger with testosterone-fuelled aggression. While Superman is a prime alpha male, he doesn't display it through aggression, he's less of an aggressor and much more so of a self-assured, disciplined and stoic gentleman; Thor being a natural born warrior is more inclined to brutish, impatient behaviour that is typical of perceptions of masculinity in warrior (specifically Viking) cultures. So ultimately, I think Superman displays more of a gentleman or big brother-type masculinity while Thor exudes chieftain masculinity, does that make sense to you?

Agreed
@takenstew22: In the beginning of God Butcher, it was revealed in a narration that he celebrated victory by drinking and screwing half of the women of an entire village. That's Viking masculinity for you.

Superman is a soyboy and what Feminist want Men to be. Thor all the way
Thor is more masculine. Superman is more heroic. People are somehow confusing the two.
One is the God of the Germanic peoples associated with thunder, strength and fertility, the God of a people known in the entire world for their conquests and savagery throughout history.
The other is a boy scout.
It's obviously that Thor is more masculine.
You can't get any more masculine than this.
Imo Heroism to me defines masculinity to a large extent. from what I've observed, Thor's "manly" qualities are mostly superficial. So Superman for me.
I know this thread requires that you answer either "Thor" or "Superman"
I'm going to have to say a tie.
both characters are the pinnacle of virtue(most virtuous characters)
i do have to say that superman has been saving people and just his overall image was recognized long before Thor(I'm not referring to Norce mythology- the marvel Thor)
with all of that being said, I'll conclude with the notion that both characters bring forth a good example of masculinity(using your power for saving people/ for good)
