Who has better reaction speed?

Taking into account all of their feats, not just the two GIFs from above.

Quicksilver has better movement speed, but this is strictly about REACTION SPEED.

Second gifs a bad example. The bullet had just gone through glass so it was slower. Anyways Diana has better travel speed in bursts (she can blitz Ares who’s equal to herself), but QS is better overall. Reaction wise, QS still as he sees bullets as near statues while Diana sees them as faster than herself

@kryptonianking88: The bullet was still travelling at supersonic speeds as it had a mach cone trail.

Quicksilver Statues Bullets with ease. Dianas has nice speed feats but quicksilver takes the Cake. Dianas only MCU Reaction speed feats that really count are bullet-dodging/reacting from a decent ways to go. (I may be wrong)

@webinyoureye11: Interesting.

So we have Diana:

  • Blocking HV (probably light speed)
  • Being on par pre-JL Clark through DD (probably mach 1ish)
  • Swinging from lightning (mach 386)

She's LS unless there's more counter-evidence. Perhaps her fights looking slow, but I'm not sure if that can be attributed to visual speed.

@kryptonianking88:

Ares and WW were not at all equal in power or stats. Ares barely tries to dodge anything at all so blitzing him isn't a superior feat to anything QS had done, afterall WW was dancing around Ares in close quarter combat and stomping him.

OT: reaction is measured in time like humans that have a reaction time of 200ms so it's not measured like movement speed. QS reaction time is superior to WW's.

@bladeoffury:

Reaction isn't measured in mach but time.

HV isn't LS. She landed before DD even fires the beam and DD's eyes light up for seconds before the beam actually leaves his eyes which is why batman could dodge it.

She also didn't keep up with Clark in BvS. Clark doesn't bullrush at supersonic speeds everytime, the only time he actually broke the sound barrier DD got blitzed. JL Supes = BvS Supes no evidence supports him growing stronger whilst dead.

She also swung from the clouds, how do you quantify that? Her lasso is clearly a plot device.

Reaction time doesn't scale to how fast you can move or punch.

@johndeyvido: Yeah but when we're comparing light speed to quicksilver, the distance it took her to react isn't too important since the gap is massive.

How isn't HV LS? Diana didn't yet land when DD released the HV (1, 2)

They were about even, and anyway I'm using this as an anti-feat for LS.

So it's a magic lasso that can grab on to those things, we can still quantify the speed aspect.

This thread asks for reaction time.

Diana casually moving from perspective of a mach 3+ bullet is better than anything from QS.

I think Quiksilver is faster but Diana has better Reaction speed, the opened scene in JL is a good example

He swerves out of the way once he sees Diana reacting towards him.

@eredin12: Yeah, I guess it’s close. I just find her showings more impressive. When it comes bullets, they both have been hit in the arm iirc. While i don’t think the gap is big by any stretch, i still give her an reaction advantage based on her showings from her appearances.

@xzone: probably unconcious movement.

Just the fact that he's moving that fast in comparison to the bullet... He's moving the wheel about as fast as Diana is moving

And tbh cgi in ww84 was ass

Well, that might explain it

Even with the difference in speed of a bullet, he would still have 10 times faster reaction time based on this alone, that is ignoring his obvious large combat speed edge when we look at their fights

Compare the muzzle velocity of the weapons used here instead of "perception" of things.

OT: If that is a mach cone on that bullet, then probably QS, assuming there isn't anything else too crazy I'm not aware of from WW84. If that isn't a mach cone, then I'm not really sure. Diana might have better reaction speed in that scenario

@eredin12: Consistency might be of issue with that showing. There's this, him being exhausted by the train feat, and Whedon himself stating him to be "as fast or almost as fast as a bullet." You would be much faster than bullets if you can operate normally while they're crawling through the air in slow motion.

His fight against the Avengers may contradict these anti-feats, but it also contradicts any MHS ideas.

@eredin12: I mis-remembered that scene in AoU then. I just remembered him getting hit in the arm. I just find her showings more impressive, i don’t know what else to say as I’m not interested in doing a breakdown of all her feats vs his. I think she has better reaction, you think he does, we’ll have to agree to disagree 🤷‍♂️

Look closely under it, while it moves here, you can see mach cone trail it leaves as it travels upwards

You realize that any bullet travelling at or above the speed of sound produces a mach cone, right?

This was still a handgun round. Interesting how he was able to perceive it in slow motion for 5 seconds but couldn't react fast enough to do anything about it.

Handgun bullet vs. machine gun round. Big difference.
