Who has better fights? Goku and Jiren or Superman and Doomsday?

Death of Superman stomps.

Though the animation of Jiren vs Goku was pretty good. Between the two, a situation that pushes both characters into desperation to save the loved ones, Superman was better. The art, well Jiren vs UI Goku was awesome, but the DoS was better.. the blood etc. Also, Superman didn't have a new technique, he was struggling to put down Doomsday with his standard power, unlike Goku who got a new technique just so he can fight Jiren.

Death of Superman vs The Buu Saga is a better comparison imo.

Superman vs Doomsday was pretty damn cool in the multiple times they've fought just seeing Superman have to cut loose and break his no killing rule because DD is built to do nothing but kill and is incapable of being rehabilitated. It means you get an unbound Superman in a way we rarely see him and get to see sequences like this

Superman and Doomsday is always a spectacle. Two unstoppable objects clashing and even in pages I feel the force.

Goku vs Jiren is the same old sthick with Goku fights

Superman and doomsday is mostly just brawling in a city

while goku and jiren are fighting for their universes survival, especially when goku fights with his eyes closed letting his instincts guide his actions for the first time

bad choice IMO. there is much greater tension and drama and stakes in one of the goku vs vegeta fights or goku vs freeza. when goku and freeza had their final fight on a dying planet, you get the sense it was the climactic showdown that had been built up since raditz first mentioned the saiyans were planet conquerors. and people had waited for the goku vs majin vegeta rematch since their first fight ended.

with jiren he is not really all that antagonistic (goku's done more to antagonise him if anything). and their relationship seems solely based on "you just happen to be in my way". IMO toppo and jiren should have been fused into one person, called toppo.

yea, Goku vs Jiren is stretching it over episodes. It's too bad that it looks like a standard DBZ fight even with UI.

Easily superman and doomsday. It doesn't feel like more of the same fight sequence with superman, and you can feel the tension far better imho.

There’s no real dramatic tension in any of DBZ fights since the Cell Saga....

Amongst these to DOS Doomsday fight. I mean MUI was actually not even better than first Goku vs Jiren fight in TOP. Should have compared it to Buu saga fights

Superman vs Doomsday by far! DBS focuses more on the reaction from the characters watching the fight than the actual fight

Goku vs Jiren is flashier but it's similar to his other fights despite him supposedly being more powerful. You dont really feel the raw emotion of the fight. It is cooler in some aspects of the ability Ultra Instinct rewards him though. Superman vs Doomsday though has that raw emotion, you really feel the stakes even if the fight isnt as destructive as it should be between two incredibly powerful beings. The first encounter with them clearly isnt meant to be on the same tier as Goku and Jiren is supposedly at, but the stakes are far more present than goku vs jiren. It is when they really go at it that supes and doomsday look amazing, and that is partially because you dont see that very often. Where as Goku is always using his powerful forms yet fighting similar to his normal fights, with the exception of a few, that doesnt make the fight itself that impressive. Think goku always using super saiyan vs naruto using nine tails chakra, naruto is not as strong but when he does use it, its a spectacle because of how little they use it. compare that to goku using super saiyan in almost every encounter he is in. it doesnt feel special anymore. Now whenever he fights in base form, it just feels wrong which isnt what you are supposed to be feeling.

Goku vs jiren is lame imo. Supes v doomsday stomps. Goku vs majin vegeta would be a much more even comparison.

In terms tension and emotional weight and pacing. Superman wins hand down no question.

However which fight is more entertaining and dynamic I'm going to have to say Goku v Jiren. Doomsday v superman seems like one of your standard City brawl where character A and B takes turns punches each other through buildings and smashing things on each other's heads. I can't say was any more Dynamic than watching Hulk take on Iron man in the second Avengers movie.

I mean there is a reason why Goku V jiren have well over four as many view within 2 weeks than Superman v doomday within 5 years. Even the Cinematic version has fewer views, and it's been out for 5 months. I know you can call this an appeal to a popularity fallacy. But I would say Fight scene that more people want to watch is probably the more entertaining one.

If we are talking about history between characters than I’d say Superman and doomsday.

Doomsday was the first character to kill Superman from my knowledge which is why it became a huge thing fir a lot of people. Of course now I feel doomsday is over used so he losses his impact nowadays

Because it's awesome and brutal, it makes Superman a badass.
