Batman The Animated Series > Uncanny X-Men, but they were both very good shows.

I was a kid in the 90's so Marvel dominated.

Marvel

  • X-Men
  • Spider-Man
  • Iron Man
  • Incredible Hulk
  • Fantastic Four
  • Silver Surfer

DC

  • Batman
  • Superman

Batman TAS is also very overrated to me. It's animation may have aged the best, but the other cartoons had the better writing.

DC, no contest.

90's Spider-Man and X-men evolution are great. But JL, Superman, static shock, and Teen Titans were the best superhero cartoons I ever watched.

I watched this muted (at work) ... haven't seen it in over a decade, still have the intro song, complete with all sound effects memorized.

It's gotta be DCAU.

I loved 90s X-Men and Spider-Man as a kid. They were awesome to watch every Saturday morning, but compared to Batman TAS, they just didn't compare. And DC kept getting better with Superman TAS, Justice League, Teen Titans, and Batman Beyond.

Depends, it's a tie for me, early childhood Spiderman was my absolute favorite with Batman and X-men close behind so Marvel. Later on Teen Titans and JL were my favorite with Avengers (United they Stand, the one with Wonder Man lol) close behind so by then DC started winning.

Old cartoon intros were lit AF.

Marvel for me. I liked most of their 90s shows, except Fantastic Four, never got in to that one for some reason. I did like Superman and Batman more than most of the Marvel cartoons, but Spider-Man was my favorite. I didn't watch the 2000s cartoons. Partly because I was growing out of it, but mostly because they all switched to cable channels, which is something that I didn't have.

DC. I remember Marvel shows being too dramatic. Like soap operas.

@rockette: I'm reverse you on this subject. Batman had a plethora of interesting storylines, that came at you in deferent ways, and touched on different subjects. X-Men was far too preachy for it to be my favorite, and I actually liked the Cartoon version unlike the comics which are even more so preachy. Some people dig on the whole political/social propaganda of the X-Men, I'm just not one of those people.

I was born in 96 and grew up in the 2000s, so there were really no good Marvel cartoons at the time. All I remember ever watching from Marvel was Iron Man: Armored Adventures and Wolverine and the X-Men. I enjoyed Wolverine and the X-Men, but even as a kid I didn't like Iron Man.

On the other hand, I loved Teen Titans, The Batman, and the first few seasons of Batman: The Brave and the Bold. Legion of Superheroes was good too, but I wouldn't say I loved it. Even Krpyto the Superdog had a few good moments.

I grew up with Spider Man (still the best Spider Man ever and the only one I take for serious) and X-men TAS with bits of Iron Man and Incredible Hulk, Batman and Superman (all 90s AS), but to a much lesser degree (talking strictly DC and Marvel).

JL came after, firstly I didn't wholly appreciate it but later (much later kinda) it grew on me.

I loved the Batman animated series on Warner Bros and the Spider-man animated series on Fox Kids, then came the Superman animated series on Warner Bros, the incredible Hulk and the X-men animated series on Fox Kids, best memories.

As a 2000s kid, my childhood was JLU, JL, TT, Batman, and the likes... So, DC for me.

Though I did enjoy a lot of the old Marvel cartoons like Silver Surfer, X-Men and Spider-Man.

I'm from 97 so the first superhero stuff that I came into contact with were Superman TAS and Batman TAS when I was probably still in my crib, I can barely remember them as probably the first cartoons I ever watched.

As I grew I watched Justice League, Batman Beyond (called Batman of the Future where I'm from) and the 90's Spider-Man series, which felt all the more awesome as the Spider-Man movies were being released.

Then came Teen Titans, which I started watching around the time when I realized superheroes were my favorite thing in fiction, so I just devoured those series and kept asking for more. The Spectacular Spider-Man came along and it was truly Spectacular, one of Marvel's best cartoons ever, probably.

Overall DC seemed to have more presence in my childhood due to a larger amount of shows but I always kept my mentality of supporting both Marvel and DC even when I was a little kid.

DC.

Marvel's cartoons were way too concerned with being "child-friendly", and it's really apparent looking back. Meanwhile, DC did this:

Yes, there were the Super Friends, re-runs of superior 60's Marvel and DC cartoons, and some oddballs like the Fantastic Four cartoon which replaced The Human Torch with a cute robot and a Batman series co-starring Bat-Mite. I watched all of these, of course but what excited me more than any of them was my first glimpse of what was being made across the Pacific.

The DCAU alone was superior to Marvel's animated lineup, and DC had other solid TV shows at the time such as The Batman and Teen Titans.

DC by far. The only Marvel shows I really watched were the old X-Men and Spiderman cartoons. I enjoyed them, but they didn't compare to Batman: The Animated Series or Superman. Then eventually Justice League once the 2,000s rolled around.

Marvel for me... but only for one reason my childhood was the late 60's and early 70's so the Super Hero cartoons were the original Spider-man cartoon, the daily Hulk, Sub-mariner, Iron Man, Thor and Captain America cartoons

Justice League and Teen Titans tip it over, but 90s Spidey was great. First show I ever went out of my way to watch every episode of.
