@debelindzo: Eh, I've not read much with him. He's an interesting character, but I've been a Strange fan for years now, so it's not likely for me to change my preference. It helps that Strange's world is more developed due to him having more issues and series under his belt.
@lone_wolf_and_cub: Their origins arent that diffrent actually. They were both given powers through a ancient god(Nabu and The Ancient One),they both experienced a big loss(Dr Strange losing his hands and Dr Fate wathcing his father die) and both were guided by ancient gods.I think its just the preference,i kinda like Dr Fates origin more because im into Egiptian mithology.
More of a Doctor Fate fan. I just generally like like DC Comics' Mystical lore more than I do Marvel's and Johns' JSA run just made me a Hector Hall fan. So much lore in that man's lineage (Being a child of the Hawks and the father of the second Dream Of The Endless) while making him still look like a badass. Poor guy led a tragic life.
@ffs91: Desaad, Doctor Polaris, Kalibak, Wotan, Darkseid, Steppenwolf, Wotan, Krona, Nekron.
His origin story is way better, alongside responsibility and humble background meanwhile strange is just an idiot and a weaker origin of ironman basically both movies and comics.
He’s like ironman + Spider-Man as origins.
I have read some his comics and except the one about dormammu I didn’t enjoy much of them.
I prefer other mystics like Wanda or Ghost rider.
And idk why you feel that way when you don’t like Wonder Woman, who’s way better than strange both comics, movies and as a character.
This is subjective, but I can see people think the comic version is the same as the movie one, which's incorrect. The thing about Strange is that he actually learned to be humble way back in the Vol.2 when commited his first kill and this is not touched or alluded in the movies, but Strange only ended up like a narcissistic prick because Mordo poisoned his entire life just because of prophecy. There's also his forbidden romance with his own apprentice, Clea, something the MCU probably won't explore. Or him killing the Ancient One to stop Shuna-Gorath, his only father's figure and etc.
Anyway, I read all of Fate's Vol.3 and thought that was good, but doesn't come close to something like Into Shamballa and Triumph and Torment.
