Marvel. DC don't know how to handle their B-C-D list characters.

Let's see, Marvel has 4 different movies that all grossed over a billion dollars without having Spider-Man in them.

DC has two films that made over a billion dollars and both are Batman films, there's your answer.

Definitely Marvel. Without Spider-Man, they could easily fall back on Iron Man or Captain America. DC wouldn't have as easy a time without Batman.

I'm pretty sure Superman and Batman are the two main superheroes of DC. Without Batman, DC still has its other main icon. Marvel would be much worse off without Spider-Man.

Not true. Joker, Harley Quinn, Catwoman and Robin are very well known characters.

Marvel had the MCU dominating without spidey in it. They literally proved quite recently they can do perfectly well without its flagship.

You need to re-evaluate. Spider Man Homecoming made 880 million world wide. The MCU has had 6 movies do better than that, and 4 of those 6 did not have Spider Man in it at all.

I'm pretty sure the mcu made iron man marvel's new top dog.

And dc can't survive without Batgod.

Nah, as of 2014, Spidey was still doing more than every other Marvel AND DC ip combined

Marvel easily, they can make a hit out of random nobodies...

They are much better with their other characters then dc is...

DC relies on superman and batman, i’ll admit that both are incredibly iconic characters, and are both worth a insane amount, but without them, they’ll sink...

Marvel would lose some profit, but not much will change, and since the non flagship characters are better known then with DC, it will be far easier to catch up on profit.

@tonymartial: and all of those is a Batman ally/villian, thus proving the point that without Batman DC is fleeting

No offense to DC but there's a reason they have a defined trinity whereas Marvel doesn't. Marvel easily. They're basically doing it right now.

DC doesn't even push Shazam for some reason.

Probably Marvel but both would suffer heavily if they got rid of either character.

Comics wise, Marvel would suffer a bit without Spiderman, but they'd survive. Whereas DC tops sales is literally Batman (with a bit of Superman mixed in) and they'd fold without him.

Movie wise... Marvel doesn't even need Spiderman to make cash and they have the guts to spotlight their other characters. DC meanwhile have once more focused on Batman, meaning they'd have no shared universe without him.

That's easy.

Marvel:Has a lot of big names and even then you gotta know that many of them rival Spidey in terms of popularity.

DC:Basically they have big name ones too but I don't think they can match up to Batman

DC, since Marvel is 'at capacity' with Spiderman, while Batman is over exposed.

Now this is a good question, if we look at it, this character is soon gonna get his movie released, and apparently the filming has already ended (there might be reshoots of course), but the key part of making is done so to speak, yet as you mentioned we see no actual push of this character, no comics featuring him, no advertisment, it's as if he is left in complete limbo, for some reasons unknown to us.

On-topic: Marvel.

Without question, Marvel, as they don't have a main character, per se; they have multiple characters (Spider-Man, Hulk, Wolverine, Cap, Iron Man) and groups (e.g. Avengers, X-Men, Wakandians) who could and are standing on their own.

i love all the characters but dc would be a lot weaker without batman than marvel without spider-man
