Why put their pictures in the OP? Lol

Probably two of the most consistently good writers from the 90's. I choose Peter David. His runs on Hulk, X-Factor, and Aquaman were some of the best comics that i've read. Waid also seemed to go down hill in the 2000s while David did some of his best work in that decade. None of the current runs that these guys are on seem very good tho.

Peak Value..Waid. Kingdom Come and Irredeemable are much better, IMHO, than anything I've read of David's. His All-New, All Different Avengers and the last part of his Hulk run as worse than anything I've read of David's. (And David was great on his Hulk run.)

Career Value: David. More consistent.

My personal opinion is that Peak Value > Career Value, so I voted Waid.

Peter David for his Hulk run, I remember the rick jones wedding with the stag controversy. Awesome.

Peter David. He had a 100 plus issue run on The Hulk and X-Factor Investigation where he had some of the best character moments in comics. Waid tried to make Legion rape his mother in X-Men.

Peter David because of X-Factor. I also liked his runs on Wolverine and Spectacular Spiderman. I did like Kingdom Come by Mark Waid, but almost everything else that I have read from him has ranged from average to bad.

I liked Mark Waid's run on Daredevil, so I'll go with him.

I liked Mark Waid on Kingdom Come, JLA, Fantastic Four, and Superman. I liked Peter David on The Incredible Hulk, X-Factor, Supergirl, Wolverine, and Aquaman. Tough. If I had to choose, I would go with Peter David. He is almost always good, while Waid has had a couple bad runs on X-Men and Avengers. The second halves of his Hulk and Daredevil were also pretty bad, IMO.

Mark Waid. I liked him on Captain America, Kingdom Come, Deadpool, and Daredevil up until Chris Samnee's art started hurting my eyes. David was also pretty good on Spider-man and X-Factor, but I just haven't read as much from him. I have tried to get into his Hulk run, but I had trouble finding a good jumping on point from the 80s.

Why must you make me choose? Kingdom Come versus Young Justice.

Mark Waid from what I've read. I have read quite a bit from both, but Peter David's most critically acclaimed runs seem to be The Incredible Hulk and his X-Factor run from the 2000s, and I have yet to read either of those. I did like his Supergirl and Aquaman though.

Waid's best for me are Kingdom Come and JLA Heaven's ladder (his JLA run in general, while not as good as Morisson's, is still a great JLA run). He is also great on Daredevil and great in the Flash.

But Peter David takes this IMHO. He wrote one of the best Hulk ever, a great X-Factor book and basically was the first writer to flesh out the entire Aquaman and Atlantis mythos and portray Aquaman consistently as a heavy hitter and member of the Big 7. Atlantis Chronicles is one of the best epic comics DC or Marvel have ever published.
