Poll Which MCU Trilogy has the best VFX/CGI (35 votes)
Which trilogy do u think has the best looking visuals??
Which trilogy do u think has the best looking visuals??
Okay to be fair. I didn't add Avengers trilogy because it would be so obvious that it is the answer to my poll.
Thor in a landslide. Ragnarok alone arguably solos.
If Doctor Strange makes it to a trilogy in the future then I'm quite sure that'll win.
@gateofbabylon: That's so true
@loyngulpany: GOTG will be a serious contender too, once GOTG 3 comes out.
@gateofbabylon: yes that too but it's still unfair to compare it to Dr Strange if he has a trilogy. It would be fair to compare between Avengers and GOTG trilogy. If only BP has good visuals at the end. It would be a good contender to Iron Man trilogy
Thor Ragnarok a movie about space gods and a giant green muscle head makes Black Panther a movie about a African King in a cat suit look like shit says it all
Ironman was good but not Thor good Thor 2 sucked from a plot point but had some pretty awesome visuals and CGI
For the amount of CGI needed to make Thor and not once saying wow this 8s fake says it all
VFX has always been MCU's strong point. Except Black Panther, I found that almost every MCU movie has had consistently good VFX.
Black Panther VFX was terrible although still better than Justice League. It's terrible by MCU standards
Thor. Especially VFX of Ragnarok.
Thor Trilogy. Both Dark World and Ragnarok had incredible visual effects. Surprising considering all 3 Iron Man films received Oscar nominations in Visual Effects and no Thor movie has. Even Winter Soldier got one.
@cosmicmuffin: Yeah idk why Ragnarok got snubbed at the Oscar for Best Visual Effects. Well most of us know that Blade Runner 2049 will win so none that matters if GOTG Vol.2 got nominated but Ragnarok got snubbed

+1
As a trilogy, Thor wins. However GOTG will be contender or win once 3 comes out. I can’t remember watching these movies and saying “wow this shit looks fake”.

Yeah, I don't know why the Thor movies were never nominated for an Oscar for Best Visual Effects but The Winter Soldier and all 3 Iron Man films got nominated even though they have inferior visuals to the Thor movies.
Ragnarok should've been nominated last year not GOTG Vol.2
@cosmicmuffin: Btw, I saw your Oscars 2018 Best Visual Effects rant and I agree that Ragnarok should replace Kong, Alien: Covenant, Okja and GOTG Vol.2
I mean, Guardians Vol. 2 was more consistent in my opinion. Ragnarok has higher highs, and lower lows. The norway scene was obvious greenscreen, but it also had the incredible Valkyrie vs Hela flashback which was the best shot sequence in any Marvel film imo.
I still think Guardians 2 deserved the nomination, but Ragnarok probably did a little more. It’s still complete BS that it got removed from the shortlist before shit like Okja and Kong.
I will never understand how the most visually captivating Marvel movie did not get a single nomination. At least, it should have gotten a best production design nomination. Every location on Sakaar was so interesting to look at, so much color and well designed sets. Smh.
@loyngulpany: u could have added guardians of galaxy????they have best vfx after the avengers
@biswaboxz: they don't have a trilogy yet
@modernww2fare: Well we can't deny that but majority of the green screen looked good only a few scenes look fake

Yeah I agree with that. It should've gotten a nomination for technical categories like costumes or production design but unfortunately it didn't. Yes, Sakaar looks colorful and eye popping but the color grading still looks off. They should've added a little bit more saturation and contrast to make it look vibrant like Dunkirk or BR 2049.
I hope Infinity War or Aquaman wins the visual effects category this year.
