Which is the better film Thor Love and Thunder or Wonder Woman 1984?

I definitely think WW84 is underappreciated. It’s trying to do a lot, a lot more than most movies. It doesn’t completely land, but people hold that against the director too much which I don’t think they should because it’s a hard project to make. It was a bit of an over extension.

LaT definitely isn’t as ambitious. But it does have Gorr going for it. There’s a huge thematic problem though in that Gorr plan hinges on Thor trying to save kids even though his philosophy is “gods don’t care about people.”

Both characters butchered their protagonists badly. But turning Thor into a total idiot is still much better than what WW84 did to wonder woman, who, you know, is supposed to be an icon for women.

L&T is a messier movie imo, but at least it gave me a few moments where I felt something (Jane's storyline, which kinda makes me mad how much more impactful they could've made it if not for Taika's obsession with stuffing every scene with dumb comedy). Wonder woman didn't really have anything for me except for Pedro Pascal's performance.

Numbers don't lie, Thor 4 was not a great movie but it is an insult to compare it to WW1984

WW84 was released during a pandemic and went directly to streaming.

Broader response: their ratings are not that far from each other, and I don’t think we should hold those ratings as being credible quality indicators (IMDB is generally better than RT though)

Both are road trash. But Wonder Woman is worse.

thor is one of the least enjoyable movies i’ve ever seen. there are some movies that are so bad they’re good and it almost seems intentional. movies like batman and robin come to mind. thor love and thunder however falls into this category of being the most nothing movie ever.

wonder woman seemed like a straight to streaming dceu film (kind of was) and while it was better i’d rather watch it 100 times on a loop then watch love and thunder even one more time.

Going with WW because they handled the main antagonist better

Box office isn't everything. you know what else made a lot of money at the box office? The Transformers films, and those movies were ass. As far as the critics? I stopped taking them seriusly when they gave sharknado an 80 on RT.

They're both bad, but I pick WW84. At least WW doesn't feel like they made a bad movie on purpose, just misguided. Thoe on the other hand feels like a bad joke made exclusively to mess with the fans. I have no other explanation of how bad turned out.

The CGI from that fucking Thor movie will always haunt me
