Lmfao. The ones that don't lazily use flat shading in 99% of their shows and scribbles for speedy and exaggerated scenes.

Western animation stomps.

I like the more basic style rather than the over-the-top impact-frame abusing one most animes use.

Since when did "western" and "eastern" start referring to singular countries?

Both have several different styles and you can't really compare all of them at once because it's all based on preference.

Overall, I naturally find Japanese animation nicer, more fluid, and more consistent. But Disney's animation during the 90's was peak western animation. Again, it's all about preference.

i just like the artstyle of most anime more than western ones tbh.

especially old anime from like the 70's to the early 2000's. with shows like ANJ, Versialles no bara, Lain, Texhnolyze, evangelion, Cowboy bebop, most early gundams ect. later anime from yuasa ect are also great.

the animation also just looks better idk.

Japan stomps. It has style and quality. Western animation also has style in a many cartoons but it lacks that quality. West has far superior 3D animation.

But nowadays it's not just Japanese people that work for these famous anime studios, people from all over the world contribute to some of the best and most hyped scenes in the anime.

Probably Japan, I don't watch much anime but the art styles do look more appealing.

Not an expert, not even close just an avid viewer of both so just some obversations. I think that on a technical level, western animation tend to be better, for a number of reasons like bigger budgets, more time in production etc while Japanese animation is usually flashier with a more intricate style which might make someone think they are better. But western animation is usually more consistent and can be surprisingly more fluid than Japanese animation but because for a while now, it's been using more stylised character designs, not a fan of those much either, that can easily go unnoticed. Not to mention they are usually not plagued by a lot of the production issues Japanese animation suffers from like unfinshed episodes or episodes airing a lot later so that they can finish them.

Dunno, a person would have to find out which animations aren't outsourced to another country.

Japan stomps. Much better art direction and composition. They just have a better understanding of motion.

And a lot of so called 'western animation ' gets outsourced from South Korea or other Asian countries
