Both are masterful but if I have to pick, it's Adams. But few artists have had artist runs as legendary as Romita's Spider-Man run.

Neal Adams is amazing. So many of the generation that followed him were inspired by him. Some copied him directly early in their careers (Bill Sienkiewicz started out as an Adams clone for instance). Adams was a ground breaker.

Both great obviously, but for different reasons.

Adams dragged the comic book medium kicking and screaming into the modern age. very stylish. very original.

Romita Sr was more traditional, but his specific style of drawing Spider-Man and Peter Parker really became the most popular and iconic look for the character. which would last for decades and decades, a more handsome and traditionally heroic version. which remained the only version as far as the general public was concerned from the late 60s all the way up until the late 90s.

so both of their contributions to comics and popular culture in general are just massive. there is no right or wrong answer here. that being said I voted Romita Sr because I think most people will vote Adams, so someone's got to vote Romita.

Both are great, obviously, but Adams is on an entirely different level.

@quinlan58: Romita's art style is more cartoony and Adams's is more serious, that's how I'd describe them.
