@tenguswordsman: @jashro44: You guys think Thor would be able to get up and walk? Or would he be barely clinging on to life not even able to get up?

@xzone: I think he would be knocked out. I think saying he would be clinging to life is an exaggeration.

Definitely near death to dead scaling from his star feat!

Alright guys come on, it's only a single megaton. Thor survives with a few burnt pieces of clothing. Not sure how the lighting cloak helps him though.

You won't get a concensus in this forum.

He should tank it with not real damage IMO.

Probably gets killed, lesser heat could burn him up badly to near death. Heat that is 15-20 times hotter than that would probably kill him. Not to mention the blunt force of a megaton nuke is immense. It can create billions pascals of atmoshperic pressure. No way thor is tanking that.

@supermanforever: star>nuke , also the heat from a nuke lasts for less than a millisecond.

Depends on two questions.

1- Can the nuke destroy a city like Sokovia?

2- Is the nuke more powerful than the full force of a star?

it isnt though nuke plasma heat is 150 milion kelvin. 15-20 times hotter than the core of our sun.

False it stays up to 10 seconds.

test on 1 megaton thermonuclear explosion has shown that the fireball lasts about 10 seconds and cools down after that.

Also even if we ignored and said it lasts milisecond. There is still no escape, unless maybe you can run speed of light maybe.

@supermanforever: you're wrong on both counts it doesn't last at 10 seconds and it's temp peaks and doesn't last long at all. The star feat lasted much longer dealing out a massive amount more than the Nuke. You can Nuke the Earth a hundreds time and nothing happens, that same beam that Thor tanked would kill all life.

He won’t tank it. Given what we’ve seen him endure I’d say he should survive it tho

Uru can tank a nuke level hit in the form of Sokovia. Thor survived in a beam that deformed Uru. Thus, Thor can AT LEAST survive a nuke.

@man_of_miracles: this forum has turned into an echo chamber for people with pre conceived opinions about everything. They are incapable of giving an inch to an opposing argument and therefore make it their goal to claim characters are at one particular level. It doesn’t matter what they do... if any other character had taken that star people would be saying they tank the nuke. But... it’s Thor, so for reasons I’m unable to understand it automatically makes him pretty much less than the sum of his parts no matter what he does.

At least Thor is not Goku, he threatened the universe just by punching and there are still those who say he is solar system or below lol

These pretty much explain it, not with opinions or subjective stuff, but with actual facts and feats that we saw in the movies.

Gets incinerated/cooked alive

Nobody knows how hot that beam was. On the other hand we have real life numbers regarding the heat, pressure wave and radiation from a nuke. He gets vaporized in the very first second of the explosion which encompasses temperatures greater than 50 million degrees.

People act like the whole beam of energy was absorbed by Thor's body before he was cooked alive whereas he only stood on the beam's path and only a part of the beam hit him for like 15-20 seconds.

@rukelnikovftw: Thor can be overrated at times (MCU), he’s not taking comic high tiers and he’s certainly not stronger than all live action characters but he has a spot on the list now for sure. People act like he could get sneezed to death
