So I just saw "There Will Be Blood" and It was such a rockin film.
The two things that stood out for me were the lighting and of course the acting. I'm a whore for that feeling that creeps up on you and gives you goosebumps (or maybe thats just me and I need to get checked out) when an actor delivers and delivers well in a scene.
But after I got done with the picture, I was thinking "Would a direct adaption like page for page scene for scene work in a comic?" For "There Will Be Blood" I really felt the acting was such a crucial element to its storytelling because there's so much that is implied through it, that It would have to seriously be tweaked to fit the comics medium- and even then would that be the proper medium for the telling of that story?
Some movies I think would:
Collateral
No Country for Old Men
Predator: ( "This stuff'll make you a SEXUAL TYRANNOSAURUS" - a great man)
Gladiator
Reservoir Dogs
Man on Fire
Some movie I think CAIN'T:
Children of Men
Goodfellas
There Will Be Blood
Breakfast at Tiffany's (Yea, I'll admit it! :P)
Once Upon a Time in the West
What movies do you think would/wouldnt work as comic adaptions?
WOULD
Kill Bill
Pulp Fiction
Firestarter
Mystery Men
My Super Ex-Girlfriend
I-Robot
Bad Boys I & II
Bandidas
The Transporter
The Protector
Full Metal Jacket
EWW you want a Breakfast at Tiffany's comic!
Red Cliff would be perfect for the comic book world.Lots of heroes & foes.Huge armies & lots & lots of twists.
Great movie..
