Iron man: not that known until his movies, now has a big fan base and everybody loves RDJ.

Captain America: known but not that popular, besides his CB fans he was no one's favorite. In avengers 1 he was still no one's favorite, but after the winter soldier and AoU his popularity spike, and for CW he had already a big fan base (in which I'm included) who supported TeamCap. MCU did an awesome job with Steve, can't say the same about Thor... hope that change after Ragnarok ;)

Deadpool. He and Harley Quinn are the most cosplayed at cons.

I'd say it's pretty hard to say for sure given that Iron Man was pretty much unknown to the general public where as a lot of people openly disliked Captain America but knew of him. Both of which are now insanely popular to the GA.

Harley Quinn was introduced as an extra in a cartoon in 92 and now has had various comic titles and appearances, major roles in popular video games, a major role in both animated and live action movies, and also has insane amounts of merchandise. Her name has become pretty recognizable for a character who 15 years ago didn't even have a name. I think she has had the biggest spike.

I didn't say most I said a lot. Mainly because Captain America had the stigma of boring, goody, who is just America's superhero.

1. Iron Man(Being the face of Dinsey massive billion dollar MCU brand puts him just behind Batman and Spider man nowadays in terms of popularity)
2. Captain America(His MCU appearances have made him very well know across the globe...And Having two of the best CBMs of all time has a Captain America in rarefied air)
3. Thor(His solo films plus Avengers film appearances has made Odinson very popular world wide)
4. Harley Quin(Mainly due to the Arkam Asylum games and now Suicide Squad)
5. Deadpool(His movie has jump started him to A-Lister and oddly enough putting him way above Deathstroke in terms of popularity)
6. Green Arrow(It goes without saying the his TV Show has firmly put him into the minds of TV fans everywhere

Its a much nerdier world now then it was ten years ago...And the top three specifically becuase theyve had the biggest boost in popularity because of the MCU: Ten years ago before all the MCU shit started...Most non comic book readers didn't give a crap about any of those six or even really knew about them, i remember i had to constantly keep telling people what Captain Americas powers were(Most people thought he could fly like Superman..lol)...The extent of most Peoples comic interest hinged on the films of Batman, Hulk, X-men mainly Wolverine, Superman, Fantastic Four and Spider-man becuase those were dominant forces within the Comic Book Movie genre before the MCU hit the scene...Nowadays everybody is talking about the MCU, little Kids,Adults, Teenagers etc...Its a very different world from ten years ago in terms of the public perception about Superheroes...I used to bring stacks of comics to Middle School and pass them around, And i was fascinated by how people had no real knowledge of who Iron-man, Thor or Cap really were(Including teachers and Kids)...Some knew their names becuase of the iconicness of the Characters but everything else alluded them...Nowadays everybody knows who Iron Man, Captain America and Thor are...Disney has effectively made a massive brand out of those three.

HARLEY QUINN without a doubt

Iron Man. Supes and Batman got their popularity increase during the Reeves Superman era and the Tim Burton Batman era. Actually now that I say that, I could argue that the Batman popularity started with Adam West, Burton just brought a darkness to it while keeping it somewhat like a comic feel.

Miles Morales. Ha came out of nowhere and is pretty popular already. He's done more in less than 10 years than most comic book characters have done in decades.

Iron Man, mostly because of him starting the MCU.

Where I grew up, Iron Man was already pretty popular ... so I discounted him. I guess on a national/global scale the poll makes sense.

Iron Man. Most people didn't even know who he was until 2008.

Iron Man, and it isn't even close to being fair. And that's saying a lot, considering how much more popular most of these characters have gotten.

Its Ironman as a clear and decisive #1. Followed by Cap. Are generation witnessed something rare with these two. We literally saw these two reach icon status. Especially Ironman.

I overheard two old country dudes talking about Ironman one day at work. I just shook my head cuz just a few years ago he was only known to a few comic fans. Now EVERYBODY, young, old, Chinese, male, female, Hispanic whatever knows who Ironman is. He is the father of this current MCU(comic) boom. He has starred in all of the top 4 highest grossing comic book movies of all time. IM3, Avengers, AoU and CW. Within the next year or so there will be no single character in history without being rebooted(played by the same actor) who has grossed more then him at the B.O. through total film appearance gross. His current popularity beats DP and Harley's current popularity combined.

We literally witnessed Ironman become an icon. Yes he is on that level now. So is Cap to a lesser degree.

All of the rest current popularity spikes is nowhere close to these two.
