What is your favorite movie trilogy?
@m2k: That does happen quite often but imo I didnt like temple of doom. But Last Crusade and Raiders of the Lost Ark are some of my favorite films.
Tough choices. From the list, I think The Dark Knight trilogy, Planet of the Apes, and The Bourne trilogy are the most consistent in quality.
I had to go with the Dark Knight Rises trilogy. I feel that all the films and choreography were done to almost perfection. I also really liked the way the actors such as Nolan really nailed their role and character. It really reached into me as an audience member who was watching the movie and made the movie much more enjoyable and likable. It's not that the other movies weren't good, they were each very good. I just had to go with the Dark Knight Rises trilogy because I personally enjoyed it more.
Matrix I think. It was undermined by the studio somewhat (read about the original vision) but still the past brothers did a nice job out of it. First two Terminators are cinematic pinnacles, but as a trilogy it was ruined by a pretty bad final chapter. Same with Godfather. Bourne trilogy is consistently solid. No CBM trilogy is consistently good.
Such a hard choice to make from the list I had to pick the Bourne Trilogy probably followed by Toy Story......
Shit I've just noticed Star Wars is there lol
LotR in a stomp...
Star Wars would've gotten it, but the three movies alone are inferior to LotR, in my opinion. It takes all six to really make it perfect.
@rock_hard: Good choice. I mean STARWARS and LOTR are also awesome. Heck even Evil Dead would get an honorable mention from me, but Godfather is in Tina Turners words: Simply the best! Better than all the rest!

Well said, and I concur.
trash thread didnt include matrix lol
Most people panned the 2nd and 3rd films so idk if it was worth putting up. Same reason why Star Wars I-III aren't up I'd assume. Matrix trilogy should be an option though, if not a very good one according to OP. While Matrix is my 2nd fav trilogy (1st is Bourne trilogy), I can see why people disliked the 2nd and 3rd films.
Ip Man
Underrated or just unknown. How much of the western audience do you think has seen it?
@stormshadow_x: The Dollars trilogy ("A Fistfull of Dollars", "For a Few Dollars More" and "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly") is notorious for that, too. So is Rossellini's neo-realist trilogy ("Rome, Open City", "Paisan" and "Germany, Year Zero"), but I'm not sure if that counts.
