A calc.

No Caption Provided
No Caption Provided

We have some hard numbers to work with, distance and time give us speed, air resistance will give us the force needed.

-----

Ill use a drag force calculator, and input the speed, air density, and drag coefficient.

Here is a link to the drag force calculator/

https://www.omnicalculator.com/physics/drag-equation

----

And here is the calc.

No Caption Provided

---

Now this calc is ignoring the force it would take to move Thors weight across continents, its just how much force it would take to move that shape through air that fast..so a bit of a lowball.

But a 19 million ton strike isnt to shabby, and Thor tanked it like a super chad.

landing on florida hits him again
landing on florida hits him again

debunked

You cut up gifs mean nothing...when you need to cut a gif that short to sell your lies there is a issue...especially when everyone can see the full thing in the OP.

The full gif is in the OP, and you can see the second time she hits him they are over the SW of the USA.

@cryaholic: Heck, why can't the MCU in LA have feats of that level? They don't have a low budget, I don't understand what's stopping them

@crapser: probably because it would take up to much of the budget and might be hard to take seriously

@bestintheworld:

He was landing about the spot on the map I have my calc.. and again that cut up gif won’t help, everyone can see the full thing in the OP and see that she hit him down into the SW.. he was definitely landing at the part of the map that’s marked in the OP(which is honestly a lowball, looks like he was going much further.

Well as i mentioned we are ignoring that first escape velocity thing and impact kinetic energy, but nice calculation i admit ❤

Thank you

Over a punch distance of 1m, that's 41 tons of tnt... fodder.

I think you should account for cinematic timing when considering speed. On screen he takes a second or two to travel the length of his body, and the same to travel out of sight from Cap Marvel (should be a mile give or take) which would be drastically lower than the speed needed to cover that distance. Realistically, he was probably in the air for a second or two before landing as he wasn't able to call Mjolnir in time before impact.

-

Without taking drag into account

100kg/2(4430 mi/2 sec)^2 = 6.3e14 j or 0.15 megatons

with a 1m punch that's 6,424,212,141 tons.

Ye I just timed how long it took on screen, there is a cut, but those are pretty standard fare for calcs.

Ye that should be added to the drag calc, I said the calc on the OP doesn’t take into account the force needed to move the weight, just the drag on a Thor sized object.

Yikes, it seems like the "10 nukes" statement is getting contradicted

How so? I think it’s being reaffirmed.. this focused energy is above what a human sized body would take from a nuke(as we know a nukes energy is dispersed evenly and you only take what hits you) and nothing says this is her upper limit, that she was holding back so as to not leave state sized craters was kinda a major plot point of the episode.

10x nukes statement was likely recorded on a younger Carol. They probably calced the missile feat and got it in the kilotons like I did. Even then 15 kt nukes are a thing, so you can just say she hits 10x harder than the earliest nukes

@death4bunnies: I don't think you should bother convincing him . The dude will dig to the Earth's core to find a single anti-feats for MCU characters if he has to and I'm pretty sure he has a problem with the MCU fandom as a whole and routinely insult and snipe MCU supporter. He even accuses me of stuff I didn't even said.

sure

LMAO.

Do you know what the first thing that drag calculator asks??

The density of the medium your moving through. The density of the air up there isn’t what it is here near earth.. so you can use that drag calculator.. you can’t just put in whatever numbers you feel like. Lmao.

It doesn’t work for space.

No Caption Provided

That’s why I showed why I put each number in.. for example when I put the density number in I showed that the density of air is 1.225 kg/m^2..

Anyway lol at you trying to pass off a air drag calc in space..

LOL indeed.

Ye I have to log off for a bit anyway; I’ll check out the comments when I come back…see if that dudes 8th debunk fails like the others.

Hes kinda a known thing around here(the porn spammer) but (when he’s not spamming porn) I don’t mind his feeble debunk attempts.. because like you said he’ll dig to the center of the earth to make MCU characters look weak, so when my calc stands up against him and the other haters, it just helps solidify things.

Good calc D4B.

Some really bad debunk attemps in this thread. Carol clearly hits him the second time when he's already just over his landing point. Also Carol was explicitly holding back so as not to damage the Earth, so of course this isn't the 10 nuke punch, this was casual.
