The way I figure, the skin of people like Superman, Supergirl and similarly invulnerable people feel the same like ours, yet if you were to poke it with a stabbing weapons, bullets and such, or even throw a punch with your fist, it'll be like solid rock. So is that true? Is the skin really made out of substance tougher than steel or is it the cells inside their body that makes them impenetrable? I ask this question because others (particularly Lois or Lana during the times they dated Clark but didn't know his secret) didn't seem to notice a difference between regular skin and kryptonian skin.
