Poll What are some old comic movies from the 80's, 90's and early 2000's that you would like to see a remake? (17 votes)

Steel 12%
The Phantom 6%
Nick Fury 12%
Vampirella 6%
Spawn 41%
Elektra 0%
Daredevil 24%

Comic book films in the past were often very bad with many of them relying on the franchise already established popularity to draw in viewers to the theaters. This lead to studios often creating mediocre scripts, divergence from the source material and poor casting choices. It also hurts that during those time, power demonstration of the heroes were limited due to VFX limitations.

With superhero movies being more popular and many celebrities wanting to get in on that superhero money, which film in the past would you like to see a remake of?

The Nick Fury movie must be the epitome of dullness if it doesn't even have the awful reputation the others do.

Dude :P Well a Spawn movie is in the makings as far as I know. But I wouldn't say no to Phantom movie. Liked the old one though.

I think Steels concept is interesting. I wouldn’t mind seeing a remake.

Nick Fury. But only if it's a classic version of Nick Fury (no offence to Samuel Jackson).

@kairan1979: Samuel L Jackson never really seemed like a bad ass Nick Fury, I could see him getting his ass kicked by Falcon with no gear

If people don’t remember the David Hasselhoff Nick Fury TV movie, I wonder if they remember the 1996 Generation X TV movie in which Emma Frost leads a team of young mutants against A-Team/Star Trek’s Matt Frewer.

The Phantom was mentioned above, but I think I would rather someone take another crack at The Shadow. The original wasn’t too bad, but also a bit weird since there was a flying mystical dagger with teeth that would bite the wielder.

I really liked the Tank Girl adaptation, but it definitely could have been done better. On a somewhat related movie, is it worth revisiting sexy heroine Barb Wire? There was a Gen-13 animated single-shot video. Is anyone still interested in the Image Comics from the 90’s including WildCats, Savage Dragon and the Maxx? All had animated shows in the 90’s, too.

There was talk about a Rocketeer sequel a couple of years back was back, but I haven’t heard much since the conversation switched to the new Rocketeer being a black woman.

Spawn is already being remade so that's one down. I'd be up for any of them (Steel would need to appear in a Superman movie though)
