Like for who would win?

No absolutely not. Lots of bias and some people are really convincing debaters that can cherry pick certain feats out of context and cherry pick low-ball feats for whoever they are debating for or against.

Just trust your 💓

I'm mostly there just because of relations reasons. I haven't really done much to support them though, just fixed two dead verses to be accurate and doing my third one rn. I don't participate in most of their stuff, and honestly I don't trust their way of building up Staff or most of the Staff in general. Thats just me tho.

For feats or information purposes yes, ranking system logic hell no but they do often give the correct information or feats even if they severely exaggerate it.

Well the good thing about wikis is anyone can edit them, and if anyone can edit them, they must be accurate because think of all the people who can fact check, right? RIGHT?!

It relatively is. A lot of people don't like them because they highball as hell, however, if you do not want to use it for a CaV or a battle thread, they do offer decent insight into a lot of characters that don't have respect threads.

That's actually a good point. If you disregard their tier system and just look at the feats listed, they're usually pretty accurate and can be used appropriately elsewhere.

@jashugan:

The problem is that they apply tiers to sharp objects.

Just because a sword can cut a City Buster does not mean that the sword is a City buster

Avatar image for jashugan
#26 Posted by jashugan (6652 posts) - - Show Bio

@camilopezo: Don't tell them that or you'll get banned. The site would be better without their tier system and instead they just collected characters feats and abilities without their BS calcs, wank and more.

The thing about research is that you take multiple sources and attempt to give a fair judgement. Following one source in fictional battles, in my experience, is almost never accurate. *Ahem* SP1M

Imo the worst part about vs battle wiki is their whole pseudo intellectual use of math and other real world disciplines they know nothing about. Hilbert spaces have virtually nothing to do w/ what they use them for. They still get infinite sets wrong. The worst part is that whenever you call them up on it they just argue that they are correct until they just ban you. They are literally as bad as the Platonist boards in regard to their stubbornness/ ignorance. Its really more of an echo chamber/ safe space than a place of discussion.

And Ironman is a large planet buster, pretty legit. Also to be fair Wolverine is only a solar system buster, with claws.

Which is equally wrong, since Thanos is the only person with that durability.

@kevd4wg: Nope, the Attack Potency page clearly states:

An alternative term for Destructive Capacity which has more direct meaning: The Destructive Capacity that an attack is equivalent to. A character with a certain degree of attack potency does not necessarily need to cause destructive feats on that level, but can cause damage to characters that can withstand such forces.

Their tier is decided by their attack potency.

For people who rely on cutting attacks and such, it makes perfect sense, imo.

Edit: Also, people like Flash and Wonder Woman don't do things like destroying mountains and stuff, but they can hurt guys on that level. Some characters just have to rely on scaling more.

No I think it's stupid that the tier is defined by attack potency, it's very misleading and way too generalized.

@kevd4wg: With people like glass cannons to account for, it's not like you can just average things out. The tier is the amount of damage they can deal to someone, and the page states that just having a higher tier doesn't mean the character would win in a fight.
