Vote for the Next Character of the Month: 2/15

Sorry, Arthur Curry, a.k.a. Aquaman, but your time as our latest Character of the Month is just about over. So, that means it's time to look forward and select who will be the next hero to receive a full month of love and attention! Seeing as February is Black History Month, we want to celebrate one of Marvel or DC's standout black characters.

There were a lot of heroes we wanted to include, but we didn't want to make the poll too big (can't spread out the votes too much!) and we think the ones we selected do offer a nice amount of variety. But which one will you root for? Your choices are Black Panther, Cyborg, Blade, John Stewart, Luke Cage, Miles Morales, and Storm.

The winner will receive a ton of focus in February. They'll have their abilities as a combatant tested in the Battle of the Week and we'll have a whole lot of other articles about them. Their coolest coves? We'll take a look at 'em. Want to learn about the character? We'll recommend some stories. Want to witness one of the biggest challenges they've faced or see why they're a force to be reckoned with? We'll highlight one of their most memorable fights. If there's time, we may create a few editorials about the character as well.

You'll be seeing a lot of the winner, so make sure you support someone that you think deserves the attention! Is it a hero you love and want to prove the character is awesome? Or maybe it's someone you want to learn more about? Give it a good amount of thought before casting your vote!

After you vote, head to the comments and tell the world why the character you voted for deserves to win. The poll is open until Friday morning (EST), so that's plenty of time to support your top choice. Also, feel free to make Battle of the Week suggestions for the character you're rooting for! I will vote for Cyborg but if Black Panther or even John Stewart win Im okay with that too.

I voted Luke Cage, but I'm pretty sure it would come down to T'Challa, Storm or Miles Morales

This is gonna come down to Storm and Miles.....

I'm so very torn between Panther and Blade. At the moment I'm leaning Panther but I'll hold my vote till later this week, see if my mind changes.

I'm fine with Blade or Miles to be honest.

Either John Stewart or Cyborg. They're just plain good characters. They're also black super heroes done right... without any awful racialization.

Black Panther, obviously. He was the first black super-hero, and he deserves his due.

OMG! that was very hard. Initially I didn't see Storm but If it wasn't for her I would have voted for Miles Morales. 2014 was great that I had Black Panther, Miles Morales and Storm to read. Thanks Marvel.

weelll not exactly but I get what you're saying. I'm a Blade follower myself. It's just that it's been a while since he's been relevant and I was surprised to see him here.

Black Panther and Cyborg are ideal. The best way to celebrate black history month is to choose a character that isn't just the "black version" of another already established white character. BP, Cyborg, Luke Cage, Storm, and Blade are all good examples of black heroes that have their own unique identities.
