Are there movies that were poorly received by critics, but you really enjoyed? Are there movies that were well received by critics, but you hated? Share your opinions below.

I'll go first: I hated Antman; I thought it was too silly and gimmicky. I really liked Dark Phoenix; I saw its flaws, but the action and Jean's character development were really intriguing.

@killer94: not rated high for most people.

What? the movie is highly praised by casual moviegoers and critics alike, maybe there are only minority of people who dislikes it because of its subject matter and content. But overall, majority of people loves AHoV, it been also listed as one of the best movies of 2005.

I don't like Wonder Woman and Black Panther (which is worst MCU movie) and I especially don't like all Raimi Spider-man movies (out of which SM3 is the most enjoyable though).

Ultron is the second best MCU villain (after Thanos) and AoU is good.

Killmonger's line about being buried in the sea was insanely pathethic and bad.

- Tom Holland is the best Spider-Man

The Spider-Man opinions are not unpopular, the masses agree with you.

Spider-Man 2 is underrated outside of comic related forums

X-Men Apocalypse > BvS

Endgame had a few moments I loved, but I was bored 95% of time

Dark Phoenix > Wonder Woman

Doctor Strange as a character is overrated

Black Widow is underrated

Loki is underrated

@supermanfan1938: Spider-Man 2 is widely regarded as one of the best comic book movies ever made. Tobey Maguire is still seen as Spider-Man in a lot of people’s eyes.

@ready_4_madness: screw MCU and Disney serious. Industry monopoly of the same gimmick, I preferred FOX liberty that was hit or miss then the same movie style..

Unfortunately marvel was lucky as hell to get bought by Disney , go pre 2009 and DC was vastly superior in people eyes

V for vendetta is underrated and a 8/10 Movie atleast.

The dark knight rises is better than anything made in MCU by tecnical point and sound etc.

Winter soldier is the best MCU movie and he only one that holds up extremly well if you don’t watch anything else and by the film itself.

Aquaman was better than Wonder Woman.

300 was Zack Snyder's best comic book movie.

The Deadpool movies were just OK.

Days of Future Past is overrated. Still good, just over praised.

Blade II is better than any Phase I MCU movie outside of Avengers.

I like “Fat Thor”. I am not a big fan of Days of Future Past. I like Ant-Man more than The Dark Knight and Logan.

I love the ant man movies

Each captain america movie was worse than the last

Endgame was not very good

The Russos are terrible and they kinda ruined the mcu for me

I actually liked Arnold's Mr Freeze

I liked the 2005 Fantastic 4 movie

  • Ang Lee's Hulk (2003) is the greatest comic book film of all time for me.
  • Batman (1989), Batman Returns (1992) and Batman Forever (1995) are still the best live-action Batman films to this day.
  • None of the live-action Superman films are good (And I love Superman).
  • The MCU is massively overrated.
  • Christopher Nolan's Batman Trilogy is massively overrated.
  • Iron Man 3 was by far the best film of the Iron Man Trilogy.
  • I still greatly enjoy Fantastic Four: Rise Of The Silver Surfer (2007)
  • None of the live-action Spider-Man films are what I would call "great."

I feel like I should include some more stuff, cause this has turned into a secret confessions fest:

I have never enjoyed any movie about superheroes with bug-based powers (Antman/Spider-Man)

I think First Class is the best CBM to date

Endgame was brutally dull for the first 2.5 hours

The “I am Iron Man” line was kind of cringe

I like Halle Berry’s storm

Black Widow is my favorite marvel character, next would be Loki and Winter Soldier

I’m just going to generalize. The overt majority of cbm’s are unoriginal fluff

Antman and Antman/Wasp were total garbage.

Wonder Woman was absolutely nothing special.

Hellboy and The Crow are still in the top 5 best comic book movies ever made.

There has not been a good movie with Superman in it since Superman 2.

Sure. Ang Lee’s HULK is somewhat under appreciated, and I think Batman Begins > TDK. Still to this day I don’t see all the hype over the first GotG, and Days of Future Past < First Class. Not implying that these aren’t good films or nothin’

Mark Ruffalo isn’t a good actor for Bruce Banner.

The Incredible Hulk (2003) was really good or at the very least, Hulk’s design and anger was portrayed better than current MCU Hulk.

Current Hulk was only good until Age of Ultron

Andrew Garfield is a good Spider-Man and both movies were pretty good.

Tom Holland isn’t a good Spider-Man. He may be a good actor, but his portrayal doesn’t peak my interest like the past two Spider-Man actors.

I thought movies not apart of the main MCU (Ghost Rider, Fantastic 4, etc.) had a lot of potential and were ultimately fun to watch.

I don’t understand why Korg is funny.

Man of Steel is underrated given some flaws.

Endgame was overhyped to be #1. Not the best movie to end an era.

Ant-Man is underrated. At least for its comedy.

Logan is underrated.

Endgame’s “She has help” scene will be known for years to come, and I hated that scene for its cringe

I think Endgame should’ve worked around Tony having a kid. That’s just a personal opinion and nothing too major.

The CGI in many CBM seems too unnecessary.

Time travel was silly.

I don’t think the MCU will implement mutants well.

And also Shazam has the potential to be one of the best characters DC movies

Avatar image for the_kidd
#32 Posted by The_Kidd (12524 posts) - - Show Bio

The recent DC movies like Aquaman and Shazam aren't much better than earlier DCEU movies like MoS and BvS.

The decision to make MCU Spiderman Iron Man sidekick/protege was a mistake.

CBM use to be more creative pre MCU homogeneous approach to movies.

Spider-man 3 is good.

Ray Stevenson is the best live action Punisher.

I like Batman & Robin.

The Avengers stinks

Son of the Mask is still overrated.

@Penguin-Dust: you “prefer” but objectively better TDK and Logan are. Especially every film tecnical stuff and screenplay TDK blows everyone out the water, and other nolan movies proved he was robbed at oscars.

@scarlett1994: IM1 is way better than im3 and no

Nolan movies aren’t overrated , the film is not only story and screenplay “3rd act , second act” its based on a lot of stuff and TDK/Begins have a lot of great stuff going on , if anything they’re underrated by some people.

I thought ben afflecks daredevil was good

Raimi Trilogy is better than 80% of MCU movies, yes even Spider-Man 3

I like the dark knight rises more than the dark knight

GotG 2 was a letdown after the first movie

Hela is extremely overrated and generic

The idea to bring Spider-Man in via civil war and have him be a protege of sorts to tony was a good idea in theory, but the execution has been bad

Shazam is the best dceu movie, justice league was the worst (sadly)

I thought the all girl “she has help” scene in endgame was really cool, I really don’t understand why people are upset about it

I’m more excited for Hawkeye TV show than black widow movie

I thought Logan was boring.

I enjoyed every DCEU movie and it's unfortunate that people try to explain to me that I didn't really for some reason. Although Justice League didn't live up to my expectations.

I think First Avenger is still the best Captain America movie.

I thought Scarlett Johansson was terribly miscast as the Black Widow. I also thought that Michael Keaton was a terrible choice for Batman 1989. They just seemed totally wrong for the roles, and totally unconvincing.

I actively enjoy X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Maybe it's because I knew nothing about the comics when I first saw it or some other reason but I've honestly never understood the hate for that movie.

Dr. Strange is Iron Man 2.0.

The GotG movies are boring as hell.

The reason why BP is critically acclaimed is because of racial pandering.
