Unbiased Character Rating: Jean Grey (Marvel Girl/Phoenix)

I've been trying to pair DC and Marvel characters together. I was using the Dark Phoenix aspect of Jean Grey to pair with Deathstroke for a big team event villain (Teen Titans/X-Men).

7, nothing really special about her.

Idk. She has been through a lot of nonsense with a lot of reboots.

I hardly blame that on the character and blame that more on bad writer decisions who don't know how to use Jean's character.

I'm going with 4. Early Jean Grey wasn't much of a character, and she's only interesting in stories revolving the Phoenix Force.

I'd say a 9 for her late Marvel Girl/Green Phoenix era up to Dark Phoenix. The pacing and consistent foreshadowing was masterfully done and rightfully defined her as a iconic part of the Marvel mythos.

Of course, her inevitable rebirth and multiple deaths kinda ruined that original story, and mediocre writing and poor characterisation meant that her standing went down a bit. Composite Jean (with her complete lack of character in the early Kirby/Lee stuff and eh runs later on) means she'd be like a 7 overall.

10/10 for her Claremont/90s run

Also props to being one of my first characters to have shown telekinesis alongside Darth Vader.
