Thoughts on Andrew Garfield's Performance as Spider-Man?
He was the best.
Intelligent, actually knowing about science and engineering.
Funny and cracked quips.
Isn't an Iron Man fanboy
Had actual chemistry with Gwen.
People rip on him cause he was a skateboarder, but he was legit the best live action Spidey so far. Imo.
His performance was consistently solid, and he had some scenes where he was flat out incredible, such as his reaction to Gwen's death. He also played the best Spider-Man, particularly during the opening moments of TASM2.
His Peter Parker left a lot to be desired, but that wasn't his fault.

Great Spiderman. He got everything right from the physicality to the overall demeanour of the character as the masked hero. His physical stance as Spiderman and the overall action choreography as Spiderman was awesome too (although he probably didn't do it by himself)
But when it comes to playing Peter Parker, I think he was a tad too cool. You didn't see in him the vulnerabilities that Peter Parker as a character has in the comics. They made him much more stylish and trendy than comicbook Peter. I think Toby Maguire's Peter Parker was the best in this regard. He absolutely sold it as the alter ego of the titular Superhero.
An amalgam of Maguire's Peter Parker and Garfield's Spiderman would be the pitch perfect version of Spiderman IMO. I think they've made the same mistake in Tom Holland's version of Peter Parker. While he gets the Spiderman part of the character very well, I think he acts way too cool as Peter Parker. You can't see the vulnerabilities and awkwardness in Tom Holland's version of Peter Parker.
@vertigo-: and peter wasnt cool in comics? Thr man had girls coming for him left and right and he was a outcast in the first movie tf was you watch
He was good with what was given to him.
I love the quips and what not (I like Holland’s better though lol) but all I remember from Garfield was him crying a lot and being too cool. And he would look like he was a model and pose. That ain’t Peter to me.

He’s good. But is the most overrated. Yes, I said it. Anyone acting like he was just this overwhelming force is overrating him. There’s this group that seems convinced he was just the best thing ever and the TASM series was the best etc. He had the potential to be the best but he wasn’t. Regardless of the endless hate Tom Holland will undoubtably receive he is a far better Peter and Spider-Man. Don’t care if he relied on Tony, he’s 15. It makes sense he would need a mentor.

He was a pretty good spidy but his initial motivation for becoming Spider-Man was very different from what comic Spider-Man did after that. His peter Parker seemed to cool to be Peter he wasn’t even bullied by Flash Thompson heck I think peter stood up to him for another kid though that part might be what comic Peter might actually do.
@blackspidey2099: dont forget the speed feats
