I'd prefer Thor to be the most powerful Avenger period. I'm not sold on Captain marvel being the most powerful. The DCEU has made it almost certain. Superman would be the most powerful guy in the league and the most powerful hero overall. Why can't Thor be the same. I've always seen Thor as a father figure (not literally) to the Avengers. A guy who saves the day at the end. A guy whom everyone admires and fears at the same time. MCU hasn't given him his due

Thor is the most powerful founding member with what he can do because of his hammer and natural power, however in natural power alone hulk has been shown to be better. This doesn't mean thor is weaker because he has better experience fighting and being a warrior along with his equipment and hammer, the hammer is what makes him the strongest one on the team.

Apparently in Thor Ragnarok (MASSIVE SPOILERS) he gets more powerful because Hela kills Odin and so he inherits the Odin-Force. Not my theory, the actual stuff that was reported but not confirmed.

Surtur Apparently Busts what's left of Asgard, which Apparently people are saying is shown to be a small planet/planetoid. Thor and Hulk are also extremely impressive here if what i'm reading so far is correct.
