New comic book day: an event our eyes cherish yet our bank accounts fear, so let it never be said that collecting comics is a cheap hobby. Every week, we pay more than we can likely afford to follow our favorite stories and characters, and selecting issues from such a large selection isn't easy by any measure. Just take a gaze at all of the new issues hitting stands this Wednesday and you'll understand. Because of this, we've got a few recommendations to help you out. While they won't be for everyone, we're looking forward to each of these a good deal. As usual, quite a few made the honorable mentions list, too.
BATMAN, INCORPORATED #10
Writer Grant Morrison continues to wrap up his time with The Dark Knight, and this latest chapter sees the return of Michael Lane and introduces a new twist for Batman. As if trying to avenge the death of his son wasn't enough, he's now got all of Gotham City attempting to bring him down.

DEADPOOL #8
Co-writers Gerry Duggan and Brian Posehn proved they can bring the laughs and crazy action with the dead Presidents tale, but now it's time for some character development. With last issue's twist, you can bet we're going to see a whole lot of personality coming out in this brand new story. Yeah, there's sure to be plenty of one-liners and action, but diving into Wade's head is certain to bring some needed layers to the title.
Yes, it's sad to see Tony Moore go, but as you can tell in the preview below, Mike Hawthorne is a more than capable replacement.
EAST OF WEST #2
I'd praise how awesome last issue's ending is, but I'll be kind and avoid spoilers just in case some of you are late to the party. Let's just say the apocalypse is on the way and, with the nations of America shattered, they'll do everything possible to survive the crazy onslaught. In true Jonathan Hickman form, this is clearly just the beginning of something huge and don't be ashamed if it takes you a bit to wrap your noggin around the whole thing. Throw in Nick Dragotta's art and this is a series you've simply gotta check out. Do yourself a favor and jump onboard before it's too late and you get hit with unavoidable spoilers.

FIVE WEAPONS #3
I will not stop annoying you until you give this book an honest shot. Jimmie Robinson's limited-series with Image is refreshing, lively and smart. Words cannot properly express how much joy I get reading this book and diving into the beautiful and sharp universe. The next issue will once again look into club rivalries, but an outside factor will also come into the mix, potentially ruining everything for our main character.

TMNT #21
The Turtles are back on Earth and prepared for an all-new adventure. Who better to illustrate their return to Earth than Kevin Eastman? You're probably going to get a heavy dose of nostalgia as the classic illustrator takes over art duties for the whole issue. It should go without saying this is an issue every Turtle fan needs to buy, but I'll say it anyway: PURCHASE THIS ISSUE, TURTLE FANS.

SPOTLIGHT: JUPITER'S LEGACY #1
Mark Millar (THE ULTIMATES, KICK-ASS) teams-up with Frank Quitely (ALL-STAR SUPERMAN, NEW X-MEN) to create a brand new series that image is dubbing as "the comic-book event of 2013" and "unmissable." The golden age of heroes have come and gone, and now this new tale will focus on the apparently not-so great children of these former powerhouses. Let's be honest, it's virtually impossible not to pay attention to this one with the creative team involved and such bold statements attached to the project.
