@rbt: @saberscar223: I was listening to Howard Stern two days ago, and he mentioned that he got to watch an advance copy of The Punisher. He said that while he was watching it, this is the thought that went through his head.

I'm really sad that Jon Bernthal is so small. Only because he's just so shockingly perfect in the role in every other conceivable way, this one, superficial aesthetic somehow takes me completely out of it. Such a shame really.

I honestly don't notice his height the way they shoot it makes him look tall to me.
@the_hajduk: It doesn't bother me, but I totally get it. But, it really doesn't bother me at all. I wasn't even bothered by Deathstroke being so short until someone(cough cough Nickzambuto) pointed it out to me...now it's hard for me to ignore it and he almost ruined CW Deathstroke for me....
In this case John isn't constantly in the presence of a taller hero....so it doesn't phaze me....
Anywho the trailer looks amazing. Looks like Netflix is getting back on track with this because Iron Fist was trash and I really enjoyed Defenders, but it was a B+ at best...
Please don't be bad. I swear if it is, I give up on the Marvel Netflix stuff. I would give anything for this to be as good as it looks and not a screw up like Luke Cage and Iron Fist. The quality of those two shows put me off watching The Defenders, but I'll give this a go anyway. My faith in Marvel Netflix will be restored if it turns out to be good.

They are the exact opposite of Hugh Jackman, the only one who SHOULD be short.
It kinda looks like they're turning Castle's parents death into some kind of crazy CIA conspiracy. I really hope that's not the route they're taking. I think it's thematically important to The Punisher as a character that his family's deaths were a random accident. The collateral byproduct of a shootout not even involving him. That's the way the made it seem in DD Season 2 and I hope they keep it that way. But yeah, I'm excited for this, Ennis' Punisher Max was the storyline that first really got me into comics.

Personally I don't think it matters. What makes the Punisher is his attitude, his sense of justice and his overall bad assery with both guns and his fists. Bernthal's height doesn't get in the way of that for me.
@foxerdes: I beg to differ. Karen is a pretty awful and irritating character. She's at her best with Frank though, so I don't mind her presence much in this series.
This could be what gets the Netflix MCU back on track since Defenders and Iron Fist were disappointing to me and made me seriously question the future of the series.
I was kinda lukewarm about this...until I saw this! That is how you do a trailer! Now I'm pumped.
Great use of Metallica's "One".
I heard all kinds of rumors of Moon Knight appearing in this, or rather Marc Spector. Well there is no character in the credits of Marc Spector, but I hope we at least get an name drop or easter egg or something.
Looks great. I love how the gun reloads, explosions, etc. are in sync with Metallica's One. So damn cool. Only thing that is a bit disappointing is the skull design. I don't really like it, but whatever. I'll actually be watching this show.
Also, I don't think his height really matters. 5'10" isn't exactly short and Jon Bernthal doesn't need height to be some badass or whatever. I see height as more essential to characters like Batman or Superman.
The only gripe I have is he just isn't big enough. And by that, I don't mean height...he literally looks less swole than the average gym rat who's been hitting the weights for less than half a year. I shouldn't ever look at the Punisher and feel like "Yeah, I can probably take him." That's how I feel with Jon.
Other than that - great actor, he really has a good grasp on the character, and he brings an amazing intensity to the role. Can't take much away from him.
