@karkus

Bruno Velazquez is animation director, he has zero involvement in the storytelling and worldbuilding.

Saying Mythologies are seperated by continents make literally no sense. Lots of thing happened in GOW verse should have affected the entire planet, like change in the ocean levels or sun's dissapearence.

Planet obviously repeats itself for each Mythology. Kratos also visited deserts and such in first game which contradicts the statement because it was supposed to be Egyptian Mythologies territory.

Of course he does, he's the one who animates said storytelling and scenes on top of having direct contact with the people who do.

Saying Mythologies are seperated by continents make literally no sense. Lots of thing happened in GOW verse should have affected the entire planet, like change in the ocean levels or sun's dissapearence.

The sun didn't disappear, it was just covered by clouds. Why would rising ocean levels mean different continents?

Planet obviously repeats itself for each Mythology. Kratos also visited deserts and such in first game

*Different sections of the planet, no one ever said they were on different planets. Deserts existed in Greece mythology as well.

because it was supposed to be Egyptian Mythologies territory.

What? When were deserts exclusive to Egyptian Mythology?

Having Kratos at mfing planetary or even universal has always been ridiculous.

Do you plan to do one about other video game characters, such as Dante?

Nice thread, btw.

Hasn’t it been straight up stated that the primordials in there battle created the universe? Plus in the tweets that you posted they state(or I guess imply)that the creation stories are valid? Wouldn’t this just mean that the Greek, norse and other worlds are pocket dimensions separated by geography?

Again, they say that all creations stories are valid because they're separated geographically and all exist in the same planet. Primordials only created the Greek World, and pocket dimensions can't be separated by geographic locations.

@thewitchtime: Considering

1. one primordial is multi mountain sized due to his torn off arm forming a mountain range of Greek land

2. Gaea exists to compare to normal sized characters

3. Primordials seem all about the same size in the flashback

This proves the stars contained inside Ouranos were tiny, as said cosmos and stars are only relevant to the Greek world aka Greece

Nothing to suggest that considering the same principle applies in real life, but yeah he is.

1. The Thor instance you conveniently ignore that the reason why he was stunned and pinned by the giant's corpse was because Hrungnir's head exploded with so much force that stone got lodged in Thor's skull and brain. So he was knocked out. Not to mention Magni and Modi easily lifted the corpse of of them when they were literal toddlers, where Kratos scales massively above their adult selves who are much stronger. So that instance is just unusable.

2. You fail to acknowledge that Thor has two different fights with the World Serpent. One where he splinters the tree that takes place during Ragnarok and another when the Serpent appears in the lake and Thor attacks, which is decades before the events of GOW 2018. Thor splintering the tree did not cause all nine realms to shake because those events were from two separate fights lmao.

3. The anti feats that you provided for Kratos, ignoring that the vast majority of these were from a point where he was nowhere near his peak, a lot of these directly contradict the games themselves which portray Kratos at any point in the games to be superior in every single way to the creatures he faces and also portray him moving, breaking or otherwise affecting objects far larger than the ones that he is described to strain in moving. Since the novels and other material are secondary material that contradict the games in these instances, these are non canon.

4. Your Atlas instance would be valid...if it was involving a non-weakened Kratos. No. This is a Kratos nowhere near his peak. This is a Kratos who at the beginning of the game suffered a massive power drain and throughout the course of the game is gaining power. Midway through the game is when he encounters Atlas and he has yet to reach the heights he eventually does at the end of the 2007 game. GOW 3 Kratos is the physically strongest character in the series. As for the concept art it is just that...concept art. It isn't an indication of anything, it isn't to scale (unless you want to argue that someone like Atlas is comparable in size to entire cities).

5. You also misinterpreted the terminology of 'greek world' and 'norse world'. They aren't simply Greece and Norway. In the Greek games Greece is present, the Persians invade, Italy is present, Lybia, the Mediterranean etc. So no Atlas doesn't just hold up Greece, he's at the edge of the world and holds these regions too.

Untrue, Thor was simply startled. It was also never mentioned chunks were "in his brain"

No Caption Provided

Not to mention Magni and Modi easily lifted the corpse of of them when they were literal toddlers, where Kratos scales massively above their adult selves who are much stronger.

Where did you get "easily" from? Regardless, Kratos never overpowered both of them at the same time using all their body strength like they did to flip Hrungnir's corpse.

You fail to acknowledge that Thor has two different fights with the World Serpent.

He does, but only in one of them did said affects of splintering the World Tree and shaking the realms happened. If you believe they happened separately, provide some proof.

The anti feats that you provided for Kratos, ignoring that the vast majority of these were from a point where he was nowhere near his peak

If by "peak" you mean amped, why would I include versions of that?

lot of these directly contradict the games themselves which portray Kratos at any point in the games to be superior in every single way to the creatures he faces and also portray him moving, breaking or otherwise affecting objects far larger than the ones that he is described to strain in moving.

And once again, where's the proof of this? How efficiently Kratos deals with the creatures he faces in the games is entirely dependent on the player's skill. What instances in the games have Kratos move objects he couldn't in the novels?

This is a Kratos who at the beginning of the game suffered a massive power drain

Kratos who was drained of his godhood, which he never got back, hence why he can't grow hundreds of feet tall anymore.

and throughout the course of the game is gaining power.

*Abilities, like the rage of the titans and Cronos rage, which he already received by the time of the Atlas encounter, and Kratos didn't get any other amps since then.

As for the concept art it is just that...concept art

It's an official representation of the GoW world given by the writers, unless you have a more valid image.

Who ever said it was just the country Greece? It's just the Greek portion of the world, which still misses much of the world like say America.

Nice thread.

I bought into the GOW hype a bit myself.

I would say he’s more like Small country consistently.

Definitely nowhere near universal.. lol.

Will have to wait for novelization and guides before any big updates can be made, but things have been added in the album since the release of the game besides Kratos struggling with a bear, like Baldur being overwhelmed explicitly by the weight of 446 arrows.

@karkus Are you the one that created that imgur album? I wasn't sure who to credit, since I found it on Reddit (but forgot the topic title) and have used it in a few threads now. The GoW nonsense has gotten out of hand. This is from someone that has played and loved the first 3 games.

It just keeps getting better and better. None of the mountain amount of "anti-feats" (regular feats) for GoW means anything to the folks that are currently wanking the verse though.

I don't think we should take every cory barlog word as true if it's contradicted by the games, he is known to say whatever he wants
