Seems like age of Ultron.

Avg villain , avg narrative, good characterization, memorable moments with a ton of action.

I really liked age of Ultron for some reason, and I'm excited for this.

I wonder if people complained about a CGI villain during Age of Ultron or will during Infinity War.

Once DCEU gets stronger in its brand power and reputation, we will see the same for DCEU... but I hope they actually make good movies rather than critics overrating them because theyre fun

I didn't mean to hate on MCU. MCU does things right. It's the hypocrisy of these "experts" that gets me. I mean, complaining about a CGI villain in a comic book movie?! Have they ever picked up a comic book?

Looks like the action scenes will make or break the movie for me, I am glad that the movie won't be a meme for ages to come but these reactions don't say much to my own taste. Does the fun part clash with serious scenes? Is Steppenwolf really bad or is it the typical "it's CGI" complaint, etc.

I'll decide when I watch it...

Nice, I knew I'd enjoy it, but I'm glad to see it's for a broader crowd. Although some if the complaints I've seen make me chuckle a bit.

Glad to see the good reaction regarding the main characters. Really hope this movie tells a full story and is not just a set up for darkseid.

This is actually very promising to me. The thing I've always believed to be the MCU's biggest strength is their main characters. They are often very good and very likable and even in the MCU's weaker movies they can still be the audience's favorite part. I'm one of the few who actually likes Age of Ultron more than the first Avengers's movie simply because I thought the character interaction in that was way better. Even after two disappointing Thor movies, we all still really looked forward to Thor Ragnarok because of how much we like Thor and Loki. Even after mixed feelings about Iron Man 2 and 3, I really loved the stuff between him and Steve in Cap 3. Hell, my favorite of all the MCU movies are the Captain America movies, even the first one, mostly because of how much I like Steve Rogers.

Most of these reviews, even the more critical ones, talk about how likable the heroes are and how good the interactions were, with everyone seeming to have a different character as their favorite (except for Cyborg sadly but we'll judge that when we all see it upon its release). This is what is going to service the DCEU the best in the long run, because it's exactly the same thing that got people's hope back up for the DCEU after Wonder Woman. Diana, Steve, and the three others they traveled with, were all very likable characters that you grew to care about. When the movie took a break from the action, either to just sit around a campfire or have a song and slow-dance in the middle of a town or even just sail slowly on a boat, you're not disappointed or waiting for the scene to end because you like knowing more about these characters. And unlike with Suicide Squad, it understood that humor and comedy do not equal character. I cared about Deadshot, Diablo, and Harley because I actually got to know them. I'm never made to care about any of the others on the team, no matter how cool they looked or how much they made me laugh (though I admit to having a soft spot for Captain Boomerang).

As long as we are made to care about the heroes on the Justice League and like the way they interact off each other and others, we'll be more than willing to sit through more of their movies just to see them again.

Eh. Sounds like a generic Marvel flick. Forgettable villain, good characters, and it's funny. I was hoping for something a bit more gritty, but the movie will still probably be good.

Phew lol. Still it sounds like the film needed to be longer than 2 hours. I'm dissaspointed that Steppenwolf might be garbage but his voice is so cool. Hopefully Zack will bless us fans with another director's cut.

Just like that, people have gone from hating the term 'fun' as a description to being accepting of it. It's like everything people trash the MCU about becomes acceptable when that's how your movie is described.

On Topic, good for this movie! Personally can't wait to see Flash and Aquaman on the big-screen on opening night.

WB paid them off, they are so biased against the genius that is the MCU.

Well me and a few other fans have already voiced their doubts about it, I feel most of the positivity is ironically coming from people who were on the fence with the DCEU.

I am not particulary more excited about the movie after the reactions tbh, I am just happy we won't have a daily thread about how much JL sucks like with BvS.

In the last few months I have been expecting this, it's basically a Zack Snyder MCU movie. I will see it for the visuals alone but I am not expecting to re watch this film that much.

I'm just relieved they're not mostly bad. "Fine, but fun" and "Better than expected" is good enough for me to go in not dreading the experience. My expectations are reasonably tempered.

For MCU fans it's good in both cases I guess. Almost like different people have different tastes, for me JL being lots of fun and jokes isn't particulary good. But those are movie critic reactions so like 99% of themlike cbms to be comedies... Don't see what's so hard to grasp.

Unfortunately these reactions dont mean much. Theres a good amount of positive ones but even their still mixed which isnt a good sign. Even BvS got a decent amount of positive reactions at first. These are the reviewers Warners Bros specifically picked to watch the movie because most of them are fans of the genre in general.

Very few of these reactions are from critics on rotten tomatoes either, which tends to be something everyone is looking at now. Once the review embargo ends and the mass of regular critics write their reviews its probably going to only be slightly better reviewed than BvS. Im sure lots of people will still enjoy it including me, but I was really hoping for it to be well recieved.

@Reventon64: RT is an agregate of critics from different sites not just themselves.

@Reventon64: You do know that these guys are critics right? It is not BvS which literal fans were the one spreading the word, but actual crtitics of big blog sites. WB specifically chooses them as the sam practice Disney does with their critics.
